Just to chime in here, here was my Chem 91, probably around where you are in flowering:

If you notice the tall cola in the back right, the leaves are all pointing downwards, kinda like yours. She doesn’t seem to like the intense light, like Ramblin’ suggested. I agree with nube, that it’s not an optimal run, but I still think she’s salvageable. She’s a stinky plant and doesn’t really get that way until the end, and even then, it’s really after dry and cure where she is really stank. I had some in my vape yesterday, in my coat pocket, and could easily smell it through the vape, through my coat pocket…

Agree with the others that the buds will really swell towards the end…she wants to keep going past day 80, here’s where mine ended up:

I’ve only flowered her once myself, so I’m no expert with her either. I’m gonna give her another run next round, she’s good smoke worth at least two runs, imho.

Good to know that there appears to be a consensus about light intensity. Maybe I’ll try a cutting in a 1 GAL pot in the pollination area in the future. The light is only about 400-550 umol there @ reasonable heights. Bubba seems to be performing well in low light conditions in both areas as well. Appreciate you chiming in as always!

I dug up some old Goji OG F1 pictures which I don’t have nearly enough of. This pheno I used in 2021 to make F2s and it had the same smell as the pinesoul currently does. Figured I’d post them to show the differences. To my eye my F1 was more spear shaped with more narrow leaves and less frost. It also didn’t smell as strong as the Pinesoul, but has the same general odor. Pinesoul has more bud leaf frost as well and a better calyx to leaf ratio.

Goji OG F1 from 2021

Goji F2 from that mom

And some current shots just so this isn’t a complete repost of old goji pictures

Sunshine daydream - pollinated by Triple Sunshine E/H

Triangle Kush - - pollinated by Triple Sunshine E/H

Triple Sunshine F

Lav Jack - flash shots in tent

Loving the plants that have been shared with me, but I really am getting really excited to start exploring seeds again!

I’d imagine that that’s coming from the 88G dad.

Also, what’s that… that… that thing growing out of the nug in the seventh pic? Looks like an inverted hibiscus or something haha.

I think pinesoul is a goji OG F2 phenotype but not 100%. I know that Soul-food is the pinesoul x 88 cross.

A goji og male flower dropped onto the bud!

Oh yeah, that’s right. I forgot.

Oh, that’s cool! Good pic.

Per usual haha…

I am starting to think a lot about summer here and anyone who’s followed my grows in the past I’m sure is used to me thinking ahead like this. I’ll probably do another run of clones before getting to seeds, but who knows if something will also get started at the same time so that males can be plucked and everything. I am pretty content with the Triple Sunshine A & moms I have now, which is making me want to look in a few specific directions.

Right now I’m thinking of the following :

Triple Sunshine A - F2 (assuming current pollination results in viable seed)
Baba Kush - F2

I absolutely want to go through a few F2s of some of B’s SSDD crosses just to see what sort of phenos pop out. Trip Sun A I feel safe saying is my favorite SSDD cross that I’ve popped so far so that’s an obvious choice. Baba kush F2 was made by IAY and both his pictures and review really caught my attention as seeds that would be nice to sort through.

I also want to go through :

Vanilluna F2
Vanilluna IX or F3 - Mutant
Vanilluna IX or F3 - Non Mutant

Personal nostalgia reasons on these. I only have a few beans left and we’re getting close to 15-18 years on these. I made them somewhere in the early 00s - maybe around 06 to 08. Whatever year they were released at seedbou. I’d like to also grow them out while I have some of the moms here to chuck onto. My biggest complaint about the Vanillunas has always been that there were a lot of phenos of very low odor, so I’d like to chuck it at the Trip Sun or Lav Jack just to provide more options and refresh my supply of seeds (have approx 6 F2s left). May just document these on a local disk offline if I do pop them but we’ll see when the time comes.

In the event that none of the Vanilluna stuff is viable, or results in all males I have my eye on :

DLA #6 (Iraq Ranya X 88g13hp)

This one has always interested me and every time I grew it out I got males. I’ve really been wanting to try some kind of Lebanese strain after re-listening to some T. McKenna tapes and hearing him talk about his love for Red Lebanese hash. DLA 12 is all sold out everywhere and I don’t feel like putting in an order at real seed company for a pure Lebanese landrace, so I shifted my attention to my DLA 6 (iraqi x 88g) ; which I already have. May or may not get to this but it I am giving it serious thoughts as a backup plan.

Just throwing my thoughts out there to look back on and feedback is always cool if anyone has opinions as well.

My vote may be influenced by how the Trip Sunshine comes out, haha!

I have plans to pop 50 of the Baba Kush 5 F2s myself, hopefully this year, but we’ll see… of course I’m biased, cuz I’d like to see some grown, but I think there could be something cool there.

These would be cool just because they’re “vintage” now… you could do a BX if you finder a keeper mom too.

You could look at Crickets and Cicada’s Red Lebanese work too if you’re interested, I think he did a BX with Puck. I heard someone else mention good things about them, thats the only reason they sprung to mind. I know nube really like the TK x Iraqi, so those DLA 6 could be cool too, the pics on Bodhi’s insta of Iraqi’s look wild.

Yeah, I am biased as well for sure when it comes to the ts. Lately the last round of it from December has had some real sleepy time effects when smoked. Going to have to vaporize it a bit this weekend and see if the focus boost is there or if that similarly will put me to sleep. Regardless I still really like the plant though and want to explore more…

50 baba kush f2s sounds awesome haha. Hope you go through with that, will be amazing to see.

Thing is DJ’s work in general is so inbred and while vanilluna is a quasi-hybrid I’m not sure if doing further line work is a smart move for a non breeder like me. Turning the F2 into F3s may be an option if there are males around though. I think at one point they were in a vacutainer that I wrote IX on, which is making me question whether or not they are F3s or a BX/IX. I really don’t remember, but in my head there are 3 plausible options

Vanilluna F1 mom x Vanilluna F2 male
Vanilluna F2 female x Vanilluna F2 male
Vanilluna F2 female x Vanilluna F1 frozen pollen

I wish my labeling and note taking was better from back then, and losing my old hard drive definitely didn’t help either. I made tons of various vanilluna chucks back then though and have tested these out before. I’m really kind of interested in the mutated stuff just for the novelty aspect and to keep things interesting.

Awesome thanks for the heads up, will check that out later on.

The guru/higherthought review I think is what sold me on the DLA 6 years ago.

Some no flash lav jack shots from earlier too -

But maybe that’s preferable for an outdoor grow?

I LOVE DJ’s writing, always felt slightly guilty that I’ve never grown any of his gear, simply because I hold him in such high regard. I trust him more than any other breeder. So, yeah,

Those all sound good haha. I’d like to see you grow them, any of them, anyway haha…

Terrance McKenna can blow me. Anybody who tells people how they’re “supposed” to ingest their drugs can blow me. Having said that, DJ Short also spoke very highly of that Red Leb hash: https://www.thcfarmer.com/threads/strains-of-yesteryear-by-dj-short.76/

I’ve posted that article so many fucking times haha, but I do think it’s very good and interesting. It gets me pumped… haha.

The one thing that I’ve always kind of kept in the memory bank is that Lebanese has autoflowering tendencies, but that’s based strictly on what I’ve read from Ace seeds etc, never grown it myself. And really, if you’re growing outdoors, maybe it wouldn’t matter. I dunno.

Sounds good, though! Why not? Do it! Haha.

Haha… I fucking love you.

Ironically in my eyes DJ Short & the haze people are much more guilty of that from my experience reading their posts on ICMag & now here with the continuation of the NLD/Haze/Thai discussions. I found the McKenna thing interesting for a few reasons, including that it contradicts the narrative of those who make NLD / Haze their personality.

Either way, I wasn’t alive when people were experiencing these various imports and I started on (presumably) Mexican brick weed. Quality would vary but I liked a lot of the brick stuff more than the local home-grown that started to circulate around 2001.

I definitely intend to, not sure if I’m going to document it here still. I sent about half of my “IX/F3” seeds to a member here last fall so I’m hoping to see those grown out - assuming they actually do. I’m kind of most interested in exploring the mutant stuff (crinkle, deformities, variegation). Having quality moms in reserve in a sense gives me the freedom to explore plants that will probably be garbage.

He certainly did provide a lot more detailed information than most of the other breeders of the time. I think it is worth pondering though why there are so few keeper cuts circulating from his lines given how widely distributed the seeds have been for so long. I’ve always read his gear performs the best when outcrossed due to being so inbred so that was another reason I thought chucking it onto something else would be a good way to build back a seed supply to explore again.

Is that right? I haven’t seen DJ’s posts on icmag, maybe I’ll look around for them today. The “haze people,” though… haha. We all know about them. There’s a reason I stopped following that Haze thread on OG…

That’s imported! Haha. I know what you’re saying, though. Whenever I’d buy weed when I was a kid, my dealers definitely weren’t filling me in on what locales it came from.

Positive attitude, dude. Assume that everything all the time is gonna turn out amazing haha.

It’s because of this ridiculous need on everybody’s part to always be growing newer, “better” stuff. I mean, Blueberry’s good weed. I always liked Flo, too. Never grown either of those, but I always enjoyed smoking it.

Maybe they just weren’t good commercial producers, maybe that’s why. I really don’t know. But I’ve always liked his stuff.

That’s the only reason I could see why people maybe wouldn’t wanna plant his gear. Personally, I haven’t grown any because he charges so fucking much for a pack of seeds haha.

Yeah, for sure. Sounds like a plan.

Oh, I do have a positive attitude about it - I think it will be fun and interesting to sort through. I also am realistic about some of the plant traits though. Really I just want to do it for nostalgia purposes and to check out the mutants again, which I am positive about. I’m fairly confident there will be some extreme mutants in the VN IX/F3 - mut seed container.

I always wanted to try Flo and F13. I was half tempted to order some Flo from GLG but I feel like my Vanilluna F2s will be good enough for exploration and won’t cost anything.

Here’s the bar lights I currently own and like:

(well, I actually own the x600w pro’s, but it’s the same light)
PhotonTek is the sister company to Lumatek and all their lights come with a full 5yr warranty (and you know lumatek will actually be around in 5+ years). The other cool thing about their bar lights is that each bar is separate and replaceable. You can also remove bars and still run the light (so if you only wanted 1/2 the space lit you could remove 2 bars).

This one (below) I haven’t owned, but as I mentioned I have other PhotonTek lights that I love and thought this one looked cool for a 3x3.

I am really intrigued by the new Mammoth LED bar lights too. I think I might try one of those next.

The Migro YouTube channel is a good resource for LED light reviews if you’ve never checked it out.

Also, the owner of led lights depot is very knowledgable and helpful. He’s the one who helped me settle on the photontek lights when I originally bought them. At the time I bought my first one they had the highest efficiency on the market or close to it. I don’t think that’s true anymore though. They’ve been surpassed by numerous other lights afaik.

Haha, yeah, I get that. It’s always fun to revisit stuff. I need to do more of that myself. I do think, though, that

Crinkly leaves, mutants, whatever, sometimes those turn out great. I know that you know that, I’m just sayin’… And sometimes they grow out of it, too, which I also know you already know haha. I think the last round of Gojis were pretty crinkly for a while, but they grew out of it. Or maybe it was the Time Bandits, can’t remember…

So did I. I mean, I’ve blazed a lot of Flo before, but I’ve never grown it. The F13 always sounded interesting, but I never tried that one.

I think the thing with DJ is that anybody who can write as eloquently about weed as he does MUST be a good breeder, too, right? Right??? Haha. I dunno. I like his style, anyway.

Definitely this. His best (pure) plants are almost always described as mutated with small flowers, but absolutely top shelf.

You look around and there’s plenty of people that hold either a pure blueberry cut, or a cross of it.

All the commercial lines tho are what really sold. I mean, look at blue dream, that’s using DJ’s blueberry mom and it’s still in high demand ^^

That was the conventional wisdom on the forums - look for the mutants. I haven’t sampled anything from DJ’s lines yet that has blown me away, including the mutants, but I won’t discount the potential. For the most part I found what I was looking for in Bodhi’s lines with consistently more appealing plant traits. DJ’s plants can be highly sensitive to even moderate fertility levels also.

Wish I still had my old drive with pictures of the Mom & dad of the F2s. The mom was one of the most attractive plants I’ve seen but had a pretty mild honeysuckle-sweet smell. The dad was an extreme mutant. I haven’t seen anything resembling the mom in the Fgens yet, hoping one of the remaining F2s has something similar.

The mom had a really bright red color to it with great frost coverage. Was not mutated from what I remember, other than maybe very slight variegation. Looked like this picture from Mr Alkalines bb sat thread

I seem to remember there was a group of people who thought Dutch Passion had superior selections and yielded higher quality BB plants. I thought I also heard Fletcher say that the popular BB cutting they have predates DJ or at least isn’t derived from his line, but who knows if he’s just saying that to avoid conflict with him. I know DJ’s mom used to circulate, but not sure if it’s still out there. I still can’t help but feel like any truly outstanding headstash that stands out from everything else would circulate. His stance on fgenning and pollen chucking is pretty off putting to me so I’m less thrilled about publicly growing his gear out. That was a big draw to Bodhi for me and feel like he should get credit for his reasonable stance.

I know that crosses are said to perform exceptionally well with BB lines. Whatever, in any case I’m doing this for nostalgia reasons / to revisit old seeds that I used to play around with long ago. I may not even feel like doing a pollination anyways. I honestly don’t expect any quality plants to arise from any of this, but I have all these mothers to keep me supplied with quality herb and hold me over…

Thanks for posting all this! I was looking at the ac infinity a while ago and I wasn’t really thrilled about the fact they add the UV diodes. I know we should all be wearing protective eyewear of some sort in our grow areas but that doesn’t usually happen in my case. With UV added I feel like it’s an unnecessary risk with minimal to no benefit for the plants. That Photon Tek design does look kind of cool for sure. Bookmarked that & Mammoth LED website for whenever I feel my light is on the way out, thanks again!

Wanted to post this before I ran out of time today…need about 10 more hours in a day.

Thank you for the gift of beans, They are going next, along with some Black Triangle and maybe one other something, undecided as yet. Really want to look at these two, Bangi Haze x Black Triangle Remix and the Swazi Red / Malawi Gold / Blueberry x Thunder Gun Express = (SRMGB x TGE) That’s a mouthfull, Haha!!

WoW thats a BIG photo, Hahaha!

Also, nearing that time for a little cross chuckin with your gracious offer of TS pollen with the Black Energy #12. I haven’t opened that package of TS yet. Did you send A and E or a mix?

Here is the Black Energy 8 to10 days flower.

Really like the new camera! I can’t wait to figure out how to operate it.
Have a great weekend Fellas,

Grace and Peace

Go with that one! That was from Doc’s “Vault Treasures” thing, right? I soooooo wanted to grab that, but I couldn’t bring myself to spend $250 or whatever it was he was charging for that pack. It sounds really interesting, though.
