Heard of people pollinating buds and letting them go for a little bit longer, then putting them back into veg…seeds develop and plant regenerates…not sure if I’m ready to trust the colloidal silver this round. The budsite I’m spraying has been stunted, but yet to throw balls.
@Tappy your Afghani & strawberry haze x banana og look super frosty. Very nice. Congrats and happy puffin.
It’s always super nice to have a dam good quality product at the end that you grew yourself esp since you know exactly what when into the whole process. I find this very rewarding as well
I’ve read that from a member or two here. It makes sense, once it’s fertilized, the hormones keep it developing. But I’m not sure I see a point in that, unless you didn’t take a clone before blooming. I kinda want to pollinate the individual preflowers that develop during veg. Just for giggles more than anything. On a mother plant, I’ve often thought of just plucking and drying a pile of them, since they just sit there and go to waste lol. But getting individual tester seeds off a vegging plant before dedicating a run would be something to consider, again sh*ts and grins. Plus pollen doesn’t have to be anywhere near your blooming plants.
Does this actually work? Pollinating the pre flowers on plant Before its 12/12 light cycle … Would it actually deliver a seed that fully representing the mother plant considering it’s not actually flowering yet and could this lead to less viability in the seed itself? This is very interesting to me .
I read someone saying if it’s got white hairs it’ll take. As for if it fully represents the plant, no clue, but would be interesting to test. I have a clone of a plant that I’m practicing my bonsai mother skills on, it’s got big swollen calyx at the nodes to the main stem that matured and dropped their hairs, just feel like they could of been put to use.
Thanks much and totally agree with you!
I had clones, but thought I was smart having the colloidal silver self pollination plan. Now I’m second guessing myself.
Well, shit…there’s an idea!!! Might have to throw some pollen on my macslurry and blackberry breath moms.
Please! I want to know how it works, just no pollen on hand.
I’m willing to try this out guys, my current 3 plants are 18/6 and will be for a long time to come I think… gonna fill out the 3x3 tent with 3 plants. I do have some Jew Gold male pollen here… So I’m thinking whenever the plants are “mature” and showing pre flower pistols, I’ll take 1 branch and pollenate the pre flowers (bag method) then place it back into 18/6… likely the seed branch would finish before its switched into flowering mode. Then I could pop the 2 or 3 seeds it makes to see viability of this. Unless people have done this already with success?
I know 100% that when I made Kosher Daddy strain the mother plant indeed had seeds exactly where the pre flowers would have been, was only a few like that and I thought it was a little odd to see them next to the main stem instead of on the buds…
What that does work, from what I’ve read. I just didn’t see the reason to reveg the plant, I’d just clip off the branch that was sprayed.
When actually do collect pollen, I plan to have a bunch of clones of males and reversed females go at the same time and just collect and chop.
I haven’t heard of such an experiment before. Would love to see results…I’m sure many would.
When I made KD strain, the off spring from the regular seeds had finished and choped down, I purposely left 3 branches on the plant under 12/12 for an extra 3 weeks in order to make the female plant self pollinate and make fem seeds… but my old DIY light litterly craped out and I only got 1 half developing seed (was pissed)
Then I went and purchased a real good light from Marshydro FC3000 sp it wouldn’t ever happen again.
I guess the real life purpose of making seeds strictly from the preflower calyx on fem plants would be useful to retain the genetic of that particular pheno, just incase something went wrong and the mother plant died off or something. Maybe even could use this method to cross 2 separate strains on the same plant 1 during pre flower and 1 during flowering without worrie of cross pollination?
Or to get a few seeds off a plant that would be completely seedless otherwise. the seeds would have more time to mature while the plant can be harvested like normal.

I like it… For me, since I’m mostly into making more seeds of the original strain I started with I would need the pollen first lol I’ll cross some plants too, but I’ll be taking time to read up on the strains before crossing only because I want every cross I made to be straight fire
I didn’t know about the short shelf life. It’s a whole new area for me.
No pre but taking my first break after chopping another Orange Goji. Still the end of the ugly plant show but I will smoke it all the same.
I sure like the smell and the high of this stuff.
Well, back to
@CADMAN @Seamonkey84
The only thing I forgot to mention was that both my MACslurry and BBB were in flower until sex showed, then went back into veg.
I just did the same thing with a found female of chem95. So the outcome may be different than running a plant that has thrown hairs due to natural maturation in veg.
9x Bodhi - DLA11 (Vintage Pakistani x 88G13HP)…I kind of fucked up too…this was a brand new pack of Bodhi seeds and therthere were only 9 in the pack! Was missing 2 seeds…blah…friggin expensive to be missing 18% of my seeds.
9 ÷ 11 = X
X x 100 = Y
Y - 100 = my missing percentage
Just glad they all popped and look very healthy! Hmmm…may have to make some seeds to make up for my missing 2…
.
Banana og crosses…
Forgot to post this earlier.
Had a solo cup that had, what I thought was an aborted seed. Tossed the soil into the bin, covered it and haven’t touched it for 4 days…went to transplant a lavender this morning and found this…lol…femmed white widow seed!!..correction, seedling!..lol
Bonus plant, get her in the dirt
