Texas heat what can I do?

Been there, done that. I was living with my brother and flowering some small plants. Two of them disappeared. The next evening I was watching and his dog started heading straight for another one. I chewed her out, and no more missing plants.

Oh yeah she normally doesn’t mess with them at all… I feel like she thought it was time to play got too excited… but had to break her right then and there

My dog, she gets too excited when she gets to go somewhere (truck, boat, leash) . If the truck drops a gear and gets loud, she gets more excited. She has gotten so excited she takes a dump in the back. I’m trying to figure out how to stop that one.

Decided to move to bigger pots

Maybe wrap a brown paper bag around pot to help cool that black cool in the heat.

Appreciate it… I was thinking of painting them white

Don’t paint they need to breathe .

Buy a bunch of LG White, cheap Tee Shirts, Set Grow Bags inside, knotting the two corners, spray/water the Tee Shirts to help hold temps down. Be safe/be well.

I’m glad I don’t have heat problems like Texas. ( I do have different problems)Tough couple months for you lone stars. Too late for this year, but I haven’t seen mentioned getting genetics for the heat. I’ll recommend a couple I read about. Baluchistan from Pakistan, available from Ace seeds( expensive) and also from Indian Landrace Exchange via full power selections on instagram or contact them with email when visiting their website. Plants are incredibly drought and heat tolerant, and highly potent…but will get huge if given the room.(4 meters). Smaller containers will prevent huge size)
Also Tora Bora from the Real Seed Company ( out of stock) and the landrace team(in stock). Smaller(6ft) Afghani landrace that’s extremely resistant to high temps(110 )and drought.
These are just a couple, but there are many more. Some strains are literally built for heat. Lots of the cali outdoor varieties handle the heat too. Good luck! Looks like you have all sorts of good ideas being thrown at you.

Not far from you bra… but I’ve had this one outside since April… Originally I amended the soil with a lot of shit to help provide the plant with enough immunity to fight off the heat and any other stress causing elements… cover crop and hay to help keep the soil cool, a lot of water, and compost teas once a month…
but it’s also my first season so we’ll see how it turns out.

Wrap your pots in the windshield sun shade the reflective material seems to work pretty good at keeping the roots cool.

Thanks @Upstate. I’ve researched some heat tolerant strains and yes, I have some recommendations from some OG brothers. Sativas seem to do better in the heat than Indicas. I’ve had a plethora of male plants lately. I’ve observed this is a phenomenon of extreme heat. I want to try some Afgan soon. Thinking about shutting down completely next summer to make improvements to the old Shitkicker Shed. Like a floor for example. lol!
Insulation helps too. All love brother…
