Texas Outdoor Organic Growing

Me too but it’s a fun 3 day weekend. I gorge myself with concentrates since i can’t get them here and I suck at making anything but dry ice hash. I never buy weed. Mine is better! :sunglasses:

I think OK is strictly Medical still. I don’t think a non resident can get a prescription. Then there’s a doctors visit, waiting period etc. Not worth it.

Ahh thanks for the info… I had someone come from OK and I gave them some samples from last year’s harvest they said it was better than anything they had in the dispensary there… made my damn day :joy:

Which part of the state are you in? I’ve grown cannabis (among many other things) in N. Texas, near Dallas. The heat and low humidity were the biggest obstacles. On the other hand, you’ll have a long growing season, wherever you are in that state.

Texas has 4 distinct seasons: Almost summer, summer, still summer and winter.

You’ve obviously lived here before. I’m in the Hill Country. A little higher elevation than most of the state so we have cool mornings and punishing brutal heat in the afternoon. When I lived in Houston it could be 85 at sunrise! It’s nice to have some homies in the community.

I grew up in Arkansas, but have lived in Texas. Texas gets into your blood. One of the coolest things about where I lived (Ellis County) is that it’s right smack in the middle of three climate zones. There were lots of very interesting plants and animals, and the “blue northers” were absolutely awesome. I also watched a tornado from the VA hospital in Dallas.

It does indeed!

Too bad they’re still Nazis about cannabis in most parts of the state.

I’m in rural Georgia, and it’s the same here. It’s not all bad, though. Gun laws are super lax, which is a good thing. Wherever you stand on the gun debate, it’s always nice to see the state have one LESS reason to bother you.

Equatorial sativas would do very well there. They’d have plenty of time to mature completely. In some parts, you could grow autos all year long.

@Herrsquidward yes sir I’m in N.Texas as well… just outside of the DFW… the biggest obstacle I’m having is the sporadic weather patterns… 90 degrees one day then 30 degrees then next… also high winds… the winds are bad this year… I follow a lot of the guys from N. California that grow outside doors, which is why I like to do it… I’ve grown some fire indoors but had to repurpose that room for now… I don’t mind the challenge of dealing with all this crazy ass weather.

The wind out there drove me insane. The hundred degrees for a hundred days in a row sucks, too. I’m living in Georgia now, and we seldom get triple-digits but the humidity more than makes up for it. A few years ago, it was foggy and in the 90s…in the middle of the afternoon. On the other hand, I’ll take the Texas heat and the Georgia humidity, simultaneously and ten years in a row, before I ever spend another winter in Alaska.
