Very nice area. My main home is in the Mississauga area but I will retire to the Ottawa Valley, Barry’s bay more or less, not in the bay but down the lake a piece. That’s where my other house is.

I’d be interested to hear more about this stock lol

Lol
We’d have to talk about it over a coffee

Barry’s Bay is a beautiful area to retire in. I’ve been in the valley pretty much my whole life, love it here.

It really is. Been going there my whole life as well, it’s a little piece of paradise and I am grateful to own a small piece of it.

I took a wild edibles/survival course there with many years ago. Brain tanned a rabbit pelt, pit cooked the rabbit foraged mushrooms and learned all the edible plants in the area. On the way out we got stalked the whole way by a bear. Was a pretty amazing experience.

Yeah, lots of Deer and Bear there. When I was a kid we used to go to the dump down the road and watch tons of bear eating, reallly showed how many were around. That does not happen anymore for obvious reasons and the dump is now a locked bin setup. While I miss the experience it’s much healthier for the bears now as well as the environment.

I have property up here and we get black bears that hit 459-500 lbs some real big boys. Deer hunting is mediocre but lots of moose having ponds on my property the wildlife is always coming and going ponds are busy place. Lots to do outdoors up here if you are the kind of folk that enjoy that kind of thing. Outdoor is a struggle with the cold temps and high humidity falls up here, only thing I can complain about .

Yeah I was all “the FUCK?!”. Yesterday at dark it was just wet roads and snow on grass/trees… but it looks like the sky was busy last night down here on the lake-front here on the Scarborough Bluffs. :mountain_snow:

I went to Bluffers park a couple weeks ago (to poop in the Kibo lol) and noticed that the 25 year shoreline ‘preservation’ project has essentially destroyed and shrouded what is left of a beautiful Natural feature, that reminded early explorers of the cliffs of Dover. I guess it was too expensive to let Cliffside and others slip into the lake. Too bad… man destroys environment to preserve snotty assholes communities. Oh but there’s a bike path. No more sand on Toronto beaches going forward which will cost extra to stop the erosion. Beaches vs. Cliffside SAND WARS coming soon.
