The Canadian Contingent (Part 1)

How do you guys feel about buying used nutes? Worth the savings at the risk of them being old/watered down/stored improperly?

I’m looking at this specifically

They have been around for a few years now, I looked at them closely in 2017, but haven’t ordered anything.

Cheers

I used to daydream about buying some of these seeds back in the day. I’ve heard both bad and good things about dr greenthumb. I’ve seen some nice grows on some other forums ages ago (dr gruber has a bunch of old logs with his stuff)

A couple reasons why I’m not longer interested are that the prices are horrible, the website has barely been updated in the over 15 years since I first browsed it (prob since creation lol). A lot of the pictures are a decade or more old. I also heard through other people he can be not so easy to do business with sometimes. Pretty sure the carnage that still has new beside the name is over 5 years old haha. The order form is super outdated too.

In this social media age I feel like if his stuff really held up to all the stuff avail today then more people would still be growing it or making crosses. Personally if I was looking to buy some s1s I’d be looking at csi humboldt.

They used to carry a strain called niagara years ago wonder what happened to it. Guess the mother died. I have a cross that used his ghost og (prob s1) to a choc cheese male. I’ll have to grow it out sometime and see if it’s worthwhile.

There’s some freezeland lines that are pretty well acclimated to this area that used to be popular but not so much anymore, might be harder to find (I’m from Ottawa area too).

I’m too paranoid to grow outdoors in my area due to possible pollen contamination or rippers.

First feed I bought was Remo and after pricing out the cost of each run it wasn’t my cup of tea.

Can go wrong with Jacks, calmag and epsoms. You won’t break the bank and you’ll grow some outstanding buds.

Frost warning tonight, they’ll purple up now…or go brown lol

I used to use MaxiGro/Bloom until they changed their packaging and it was not approved by whatever Canadian department looks after it. The shipping bothered me on mail order, no powder lines locally otherwise. So I just used
MiracleGrow 24-8-16 and and Rapidgrow 15-30-15 bought locally at a garden center. I have used them in coco and doubt I will go back to ‘Weed’ nutrients. I add a little Epsom salt just for good luck. Not trying to squeeze the most I can out of plants, maybe the other stuff is better, don’t care.

There is no “cannabis” magic nutrients. You just need a mix that comes close to what cannabis needs chemical wise and it’ll work. For bloom boosters, 99% of all brand name bloom boosters are MKP Monopotassium Phospahte with some food colouring and maybe kelp and tiny bit of MAP or Super Phosphate added in to make it look more complex lol

So how does it work? Do you pick one variety or a selection?

Just write a variety and a backup option.

All you need to do is write your info on an envelope, add two stamps, write your choices down on a paper and put it all into another envelope addressed to his mailing address. Then wait for it to show in your mailbox.

Did you get anything cool or different?

I’ve gotten Cobra Reg Auto(5), Main Street Mass Reg Auto(4), Wedding Cake Fem Auto(4) and Romulan Kush Reg Photo(5)

Most excited about the Romulan Kush Regs, hoping to get a breeding pair

@CADMAN no, just a couple from the menu. I am happy I received some Cobra autos, again lol. The ones I put out early spring this year were hit with that late snow we had and killed em all :joy:

Hey fellow Canadian Gromies!

I need help looking for a machine in Canada to wash my bud for hash and concentrate making. EVERYTHING! is either sold out, WAYYYYY overpriced or doesn’t ship to Canada and the only machine I can find with any reviews & ratings is the Bubblebag Dude’s machine on Amazon.ca. The thing about it is that I’ve had that saved on a shopping list since March of 2020 and at the time it was $59.99. Now, it’s $169.99!! and it’s annoying the absolute shit out of me!! I absolutely despise this price gouging. Is EVERYONE IN THE ENTIRE WORLD making hash at home these days?! It’s actually insane.

Now I’ve read reviews on here that say the bubble bag dude machine is actually pretty decent. So I’m considering it but I thought I might check in with you all here first. Also, I’m fully aware that this is a mini washing machine for clothes… It’s not a machine specifically made for washing buds. Trust me… this is the part that annoys me the most! I’ve looked on Alli-Express and found many other mini clothes washers. There are even a bunch on Amazon for much cheaper. I just thought someone could help me out in here. Thanks and sorry for my mad man 5am ramblings haha

It’s small, but should work.

I am in the same boat and after reading through all the reviews on his amazon page I decided to pass on his insanely overpriced machine with a sticker on it.
Quite honestly it is just an RV washing machine just like triple the price lol

Found that USB ultrasonic washing device on Alli-Express for $22. Didn’t know how good it would work but for that price I may give it a shot. It takes about 6 weeks to ship, that’s the only caveat haha.

A drill and a spout later you’ve got a gravity fed small batcher.
