Definitely a snow enthusiast here and have boarded and or skied quite a few hills in BC, i have a planned cat boarding trip near nelson this year, plus general ski/board days to get the legs back in shape for it as i just avoided the mess that was most ski hills this last year due to covid.

I hear you bud. My mother is in Kamloops, Sister in Merit, many nieces, nephews etc in other locations. First they burn, than they flood. Best wishes to all.

So… now you know what i meant about flooding

Parents are staying at my place currently as there is no way for them to head home to northern BC at the moment.

some vids of the issue if interested.

Me too…just poking fun. I moved to the ‘country’ from toronto in '91. Seriously though , the animals and people are more dangerous in the city. Bears, deer, coyotes wild turkeys are daily occurences, thankfully. and I still don’t lock my doors .

I heard something but had NO IDEA how bad until I ended up checking further. Glad you and your folks are okay!

Were pretty good where im at which is funny cause were at sea level or sometimes under or over that. We get hit first though most of it skips over till it starts piling up before the mountains where it really gets dumped.

Our issue is with ground saturation like we have and say if an earthquake comes along we’re sinking.

Where I am at…all the highways are closed basically…
The local gas stations are out of gas because the fuel trucks cannot get here cause of the roads.
People are panicking and stocking up at the grocery stores.
ALOT of people stranded, sleeping in there vehicles cause they can’t travel home.
Its a mess here right now for alot of people.

Yeah forsure anything east is screwed, and were suppose to get another weather system in a couple days, also what most dont realize is the LML is the port hub for a decent portion of bc and say alberta, with us cut off thats gonna mean shortages elsewhere that are gonna start being felt shortly depending on how quick things can be opened up which i dont expect to happen very fast due to the current state and damages

So it might be tough to get my eBay package from China?

Yeah. Its going to be shitty for awhile.
Its going to take some time to get things somewhat back on track.
Hopefully not too long! :crossed_fingers:

You might have some extra wait time on that package. :timer_clock:

Groceries and produce anything coming off a ship getting trucked east. Should be interesting for a while that’s a definite.

The amount of air traffic around here is incredible! I have never heard or seen so many helicopters.
People getting rescued, and alot of people just paying private pilots to fly them around.
I am definitely staying home and conserving the little bit of gas I got left in my truck…could be awhile until the fuel trucks get here. On the plus side at least we got power.
Feel bad for the people stuck on the highways between landslides…hopefully they don’t got to wait much longer. Makes me think I should stash away some water/food in my truck so if I ever get stuck in a mess like this, at least I will have something.

i have a emerg pack in my car for such situations though its currently absence of bottled water and say some cliffbars as usually i have water, and well the previous cliffbars were to fend off the hangry lady, perilous situation you know

I wonder if this will spike gas prices. Because, you know, they do not need much of a reason.

Greed will keep spiking gas prices, the excuse they use is irrelevant. With gas being a necessity we will always be screwed. Our government charges a percentage in tax so they are always happy to see us getting gouged no matter what bull shit they say to try to placate us. Hydro is the same way. When I look up north where my cottage is I will get a bill in the winter for two to three hundred dollars in delivery fees with no hydro used. They know when they got us so they will always gouge us.
