I could be terribly wrong, but I think the point of hydrating dry flower before agitation, is more about it not breaking down so much in the mix. If I’m wrong let me know, but it keeps more plant material from ending up in your screens?

I didn’t see any difference under the microscope. Ahem, if you are using dried buds to make hash, it’s already ruined

But , if dry material is all you have and you want to make the best end product out of what you have to work with , woulda soak for dry material help or be the same if you do multiple washes ?

Wouldn’t it be best to just sift the dry stuff. And then do something with the kief?

Never made water hash. I have made hash from screens and about 7 or 8 years back I jumped on the rosin bandwagon. I live in an illegal state and I grow gorilla, I usually only intentionally grow 2 or maybe 3 to finish. So needless to say, the amount of material come dry weight truly plays a role on how you gather trichomes. I hope to have a decent amount to play with this year, I’m thinking of drying some real nice and curing them until the temp drops to 20 degrees and making some proper dry sift. I might try to go for the bubble man 99.999 :rofl::rofl::rofl:

I did a dry sift with dry ice once.
The product was nice, but the process of dry sifting had me reaching for all my allergy meds , it was as bad as it gets for me when certain pollens are at their peak.
I have no issue with ice water lol

If you use different size screens for keif then maybe.

For me one of the best parts of bubble is I can remove things I don’t want in the final product.

But I only dry sift with one screen so maybe it’s not a concern.

And I exclusively make bubble with dry material.

Took my daughter to the airport this morning at 3.30 am, I saw a lot of trees down along the highway and in people’s yards on the way back when it was light, we didn’t lose any in the back yard surprisingly, not checked my woods yet, I am waiting for the sun to come out.

Why do you just use dry material?

It’s more convenient. I have a small operation and sometimes I can break off a whole plant for hash but usually I just collect popcorns and trim until I have a reasonable quantity.

And I only have a small freezer so even if I wanted to fresh freeze, which I don’t, I couldn’t.

My problem is I never have room in my chest freezer! Since my stand up shit the bed 2 years ago I’m down to a chest and my fridge freezer (bottom) which is not much and I’m a bulk/sale guy . I was going to fresh freeze a bunch last round…… nope! Plans changed when I couldn’t even fit more than one plant

We have a couple of days work in Chester on one of the islands , trees in the roads and driveways, NSP hasn’t been there yet to remove trees on the lines .
