Any thoughts on these? I bought a 200w UFO style light and I can just about deal with the heat it generates but I think if I was buying again today I’d consider these, or something from Vivosun.

Go for their 240W QB instead of their 150W it’s about $5.08 more.

Yeah, that’s the cornelian choice I’m facing right now. Might as well just do that.

@CaptainNemo in a country next to yours, the one you often joke about

Ah well…
I just do big amounts anyhow, so i guess i can’t help here.
In case you ever need a palet of anything grow-related hit me up

Unlikely, but thanks, will remind if it happens.

As promised @Trae1170 The bulb has been installed in the hellbilly Deluxe and prognosis is plants are currently loving the shit out of it.My Chemo plant in the back corner is damn near climbing out the pot to get at the new bulb.Nice warm glow

That light is working so good it blew up the side of my tent i had to rearrange Things are flying i havent had this much vigorous growth with a light like this in a long time

Any good retailers in canada? I’m worried about cost of shipping etc

Sooo… any ideas for 60x60x180cm (that’s 2’x2’x6’ I think)… ??

I would happily buy the Viparspectra XS1500 Pro if it were available in the EU and not 3x what my US growmies pay. Any alternatives for 2x2 that are comparable and have a decent price?

Not available right now is not a problem (nothing is available in Europe lol) but I’ll need something after outdoorseason. Seems like most lights are too big for my tent

The Kingbrite 150w would fit in but after taxes and customs that will be >200€. I’d rather diy than pay a huge euro malus.

Kingbrite, meiju, red farm are also not bad

Thanks, that looks better suited for 2x3 and has the old lm281b diodes. Anyway their EU brand does not seem to exist in EU amazon

Do you use it in 2x2 @thainer?

I’d like to know how (and if) this driver will perform with these boards. XLG-240-H-AB, and QB132 Boards.

On the datasheet, I’m looking at the “H” model, that’s the version in asking about. On page 4 of the datasheet, I think I need to understand that “graph” of recommended performance region, or something.

The driver:
Rated current - 4900mA
Rated power - 239.6W
Constant current region - 27-56V
Full power current range - 4280-6660mA
Current adjust range - 2400-6660mA

QB132:
Max current - 2000mA
Voltage - 36V

-If I wanted to use this driver (with multiple boards), I’d have to wire in parallel, right (not enough voltage for two or more boards if in series; 2 x 36V = 72V).

-If wired in parallel, multiple boards could get up to their 36V they want/can take. So then can I look at the current adjust range and see that there’s 6660mA available, and divide that by the max the board can handle, in this case 2000mA? And conclude that this driver could practically power three of these boards?
Or, could it also power four (or more) boards but the current drawn by them will be less? How do I know/figure this out the right way, using the data sheet?

The graph with the performance region shows on particular… example data point(?) of " 6660mA,36V ".

(Also, from the QB132 page):

Flux Characteristics with 4000K

VDC Current (mA) Watts at Board Lm/W at Board (55C) μmoles/joule at Board (55C)
32.7 700 23 204 2.96
33 1050 35 197 2.86
33.5 1400 47 192 2.79
33.8 1750 60 187 2.72
34 2000 68 184 2.67

I’m likely going to have a couple of these, is why I’m asking.
Thanks.

you read the graph correctly , at 36v the driver can supply that 6660ma but as it increases in voltage the current drops proportionally to the voltage increase always maxing out at the rated power output of 240w so say at 40v it can only supply 6000ma aka 240w

So you could run 3-4 boards, with 3 you would be in the situation where you can overdrive them to detriment as in 6660ma/3 = 2220ma per board, but you can always adjust the IO potentiometer to put a max limit of your choosing but under utilizing the driver, otherwise with 4 boards would be right around that 1665ma per board (6660ma/4)

But a word on voltage it looks like you would be in the 33.5-34v range in the amperage’s above for the boards so actual power consumption would be in the 204-224w range and not that full 240w just due to the lower voltage and maxed out current capabilities of the driver, and build wise id say going 4 boards and not running them as hard is better that maxing out 3 boards.
