The Education of Ciel: Basement Grow

Hello world!

This will serve as my log for my first attempt at growing. I’ve made a lot of mistakes so far, I’m just trying to limit them at this point. I think a lot of them stemmed from inconsistent watering. Everything is in 3 gallon pots with ProMix. I’ve been using Rooted Leaf nutrients. At some point I’ll invest in new lights, but at the moment I have 1xT5 and 1 LED providing the artificial sun.:sun_with_face: I am currently in day 33 of flower.

The plants include,

3 - G13HPx NL5 from Deadpanhead
2 - Great Ape from Cannaventure

The Great Apes were started from fem seeds.

Good choices of plant

Thanks. Admittedly, I’m not the biggest fan of berry smelling stuff, but these Great Ape smell pretty good. I think I’ll actually try to “train” my plants next time. The bushy one in the back was more of an accidental topping from being too rough.

Hey @anon28281931  welcome to OG!

And definitely welcome to the club! :joy: My grow log shows off quite a few mistakes all in the sake of learning and growing together.

Here are some pictures from day 37 of flower. The colors of the plants look less washed out under the T5, though I can’t say I’m much of a photographer to begin with.

I’ve decided to start feeding twice a week.

Any way, the sun is out where I am and everybody loves the sunshine.

Let’s talk about smells…most leave an odor on the fingers if I rub/touch a small bud. The largest G13/HPxNL5 has no discernible smell. One of the others has a slightly sweet smell. The other has a nice funky aroma. The two Great Apes smell sweet. However, the small one smells like candy. The taller of the two smells like sweet/funky chemicals. Hopefully I’ll get better at the descriptions as time goes on.

It’s Saturday…more photos, but from a different angle. They were taken this morning. The large G13HPxNL5 seems to have a muted citrus smell. Kind of like a watered down grapefruit juice.
