The tale of 2 tents: Been back 2 days let’s grow

Have a local guy that does periodic dry offs. Swears by it. Not sure his method of growing. Will have to ask him next time I see him.

Some of these genetics were created in parts of the world that typically suffer dry spells. The dry spells typical happen near mid to late flower cycle. The dry spell, followed by a heavy feed/water, signals the plant to kick it in gear and build while the building is good, lol. Or so the thinking , or some of it, goes.

What do i think? Dont give a shit, I do it, been doing it, will continue to do it. Saves me nutes and water, lmao!!

Damn @Meesh Im STONED …

Nice garden brother…
Just be careful when moving or transplanting the plants, all the corners are taken so I’m sitting in the middle of the room, admiring your grow lol…
Also, keep me in mind when you roll your joints :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

My Boss sent me to Alaska on a killer fishing trip, maybe 20 years ago. Had time of my life. Long story, tell it some time.

Only issue was Steve got to go too! Cannot stand him, makes my skin crawl. Do not want to do anything to him, just dislike being near him. Stuck with him, in the woods, 10 days. THEN i wanted to do something to him.

3 minutes before this picture, we were on top of the the 600 foot mountain, and he threw a stick off of it…OF COURSE, I HAD the owners dog (of the fishing lodge) with us

Yeah, y’all can guess what happened.

We were walking back, bitching at each other what we were gonna tell Bud, and about came to blows. He had a stick, i had a 460 W.M. For a second i thought about shooting him, but when he picked up the stick, and smiled at me, i just couldnt, lol!!

He just txt this to me. We STILL work together

Great Journal Jet, thanks for sharing.

What soil mix to you suggest for Octo grows?

I specialize in doing what they say not to do and I’ve been adding a couple inches of supersoil at the bottom to encourage the root system in the pot. Seems to have worked great in my last grow.

Have you experimented in that direction?

I do not want any organic in my octos
Counter productive

I use either roots 4 or promix
Add in 25 percent perlite
That’s all I use

Huh. Why counter productive? :face_with_monocle:

I admit I don’t understand the “Two Root Systems” that Octo-Chris says is crucial to the method. Seems to me that you’d ideally want to “Feed” both root systems exactly what they most favor.

Also seems that the ideal feed would be different for the DWC roots in water, and the upper root system in soil.

My last octo harvest I noticed that both root balls (soil & Rez) were about the same size in most of the plants. Was that because the upper root system loved those soil-bound nutes in my enriched compost? It’s a mystery.

Pls don’t misunderstand, I’m genuinely hopeful you can shed some light on this.

Respect,
-Grouchy :v: :green_heart:

So what actually happens ( I have split bags 6 weeks into flower to see) is the plant sets up like 4 to 5 zones not 2 .
Chris is talking about two different types of roots .

What his system does is set up gradient wet zones from net pot to top . Each has different wetness . Plant decides where to set what roots . You need 12 inches to make gradient work right : why you use the tall sleeve not shorter ones .

I do not want any organic in my pots as it confuses the plant . Plant will pull and store nutes it wants in the different zones . The live material at net pot will confuse plant .

It will also stop the natural progression of the roots into the zones .
How I know? Tried it .

Works poor with living soil or any soil for that matter . Doesn’t wick properly doesn’t dry right just makes a mess too .

Why I use inert feed what I want to feed . Letvplant decide where to store it and when to use it and how much .

Chris is a genius , spent a few hours talking to him .

I WILL NOT RE ENGINEER HIS PERFECT SYSTEM
