I find the middle path is best when changing reservoir. Change half the volume every 7-10 days, and top up as needed. Less wasteful/cheaper than a full change, and avoids pH/EC/temp swings from complete changes.
Don’t worry about a little bleach, it’s not going to hurt the plant, keeps stuff nice and clean and roots happy. I have used up to 1mL/gallon of regular plain 5% bleach with no ill effects, but people tell me that’s way too much haha. Start at 0.1mL/gallon and work up from there. It dissipates very rapidly anyway, within a day or two, faster if the reservoir is agitated.
Yeah I’ve learned to love my change outs. I see a big difference in the happiness of the gals. It used to be difficult trying to change my resivor before I had found a pump. Made life so much easier. I’ve come to the realization that the Myco+ is building up in my roots. That product it getting 86d right out of my hydro regiment. It practically falls right off of the roots once I dip em a couple times. It still dies them a little which doesn’t help to tell if something is really going on. I will plan on using bleach if stuff really gose south. There really looking pretty good I think. They just had me worried. I know it easier to nip a problem in the bud (so to speak) then to see if it might get better.
The the plant in soil is being a headache because her leaves are cupping. I’ve got as much air going in there as I can without a fan for the heat. I’m just going to have to ride it out with her till the end. We came this far right? Here she is. She’s producing some nice dark nuggs with lost of frosting.
I snaged samples off both and I’m really digging the hydro. Sometime grass triggers my anxiety so I have to watch what I smoke at first. Every strain is different. This strain (whatever it is) is good for my anxiety. Its very soothing. I will do another update on day 50. I’m excited
I actually bought that microscope. It works really well if you can hold it still. So, what i do is just snip a small sample and look at it that way. loves that it takes the photo’s (i hook it up to my Samsung tablet)
Yeah I was wondering about that. I heard some people were having problems with certain ones with there phones. I’m glad you said something cause you have a Note as well. Didn’t get around to get it. It was going to be a gift but the kids come first. Now I will feel safe grabbing one. Thanks.
Yeah I was thinking about switching it up. I know GH makes a two part. I dont know if its colorless. What do you use? The micro isn’t as bad on my water as the Myco+
@LilJonB I use AgSil16, CalcNit, and Epsom salts and then I often use Liquid Koolbloom and Dry Koolbloom but don’t miss them much when I omit them from the soup.
When you implement these do you lower your PPMs of the GH Maxi 2 part to be able to use them? Or do you use the recommended dose across the board with the supplements? I understand that the GH trio is way to hot. I use half the recommended dose. That usually gets me around 900 PPM. I understand I’m probably asking alot. Sorry.

Here we go family! This a little update. I was away for the holiday and was pretty confident that everything was going to be okay for me to go to PA to visit family to bring in the new year.
We are at 48 days of flower. Here is what I got growing on!
This is my Runtz bag seed. She is a Bastard I have no idea who the father is. Now since I’ve been having problems with the leaves going Taco on me and I truly believe its not heat.
My Temps stay between 70 & 80. Unless she really likes it chilly🥶
I did notice that evertime I water the next day it gets considerably worse. Now keep in mind the soil is reused from my outdoor grow last season. I did not recharge it or anything. I’ve just been watering with GH Flora Series nutes. At this point I’m just going to let her ride it out until she’s done. I really believe its a soil issue, not a heat issue. The only other variable that I have taken into consideration is the relative humidity. The humidity has been around 50% the whole grow. I am going to get a humidifier for my next grow.
I’m just here to document it for myself and others. If anyone has any suggestions on recharging soil I would love to hear them. I’m try my best to not be wasteful. I guess that could be my new year resolution

Now in the beginning when I first started her I was trying to figure out what strain she was. The mother was a strain that smelled really lemony but this one dose not. This one smells super sweet. I’m glad I have over 100 seeds of this. So since she is nameless She is now called FOREST CANDY. If that is a strain already please let me know. The only problem I came across while I was gone was a little bit of light burn from my LEDs. Or at least thats what I suspect.

Now this is a little side project that I started to practice starting seeds straight in DWC without a rockwool cube. And a little practice on minni DWC and some experience starting seeds in 12/12.
Shes 25 days old and she just started showing her lady parts. Please excuse the cramped looking leaves. I was away and I didn’t expect her to explode in growth like she did. If I would have started her sister straight in DWC I can only imagine how much bigger she would have been. Those leaves! My gosh!
I know this is not sexy root porn. Im just sharing how your roots can be died by your nutrient solutions. I firmly believe that the Myco+ is what really died them the most. I will be switching to GH Maxi two part along with Hydroguard In the future.
