I like to dry mine. I set them on a paper towel and let them dry, it makes it easier to get the last bits of soil, etc out too when they are dry.
Historically, the root has been used in teas as well as topically. That being said, there are some compounds that may be damaging to the liver. It’s better to be safe than sorry.

Phenols if memory serves, I would have to look it up. But now that you mention it, heavy metals also accumulate in the root mass of cannabis…

Well checked in all the volunteers seedlings this morning it did get down to 30 f this Am and the cold didn’t phase them a bit did a check this evening and the count is at 18 little plants looking as happy like a puppy with two peckers! Lol

Did some transplant today I’d have to say my germination rates are probably the worst Iv had to date but a few others I believe starting to shoot the root! <50% at this point hoping others will pop up up soon!
Mixed a bit of outdoor raised bed soil with some EWC , rice hulls and some all-purpose DTE LETS see if they take off!
