Tinytuttles 2020 grow chronicles

Great to hear the issues of bugs are subsiding ya one can often tell when Brix is up also from the glossy sheen that’s on the leaves

Thought I heard somewhere that the family of beetles are about the only thing that might be able to attack foliage that’s 12 points or higher IIRCC

Looking forward to your grow this year unfortunately do to unexpected circumstances i won’t have anything in the back yard this year the sprouts will have to eventually go the 100+ that are out there now! lol

I took me quite awhile 2 get through it all at once. Lots of screen shots were made. You are a Huge contribution to the OG. Please don’t ever stop!

I gotta incorporate more of the homemade stuff soon. Maybe this summer. I love the knowledge. Can’t get enough.

I also use silica sort of regular and I believe it aids as one more tool in the tool box for bugs. It’s supposed to really strengthen cell walls which literally make the leaf less attractive as food.

With all of the rain my area is geting this year, I’ll likely need to gear up on some of these DIY choices.

Oh, somebody above was talking about other substances to use, like sulphur and rosemary, and I wanted to mention that I got a sample of some tuff made from the MammothP people called CannControl and it uses thyme oil. I haven’t tried it yet but it looks like it takes a lot of it and I haven’t checked the price yet. It’s the first time I’ve seen Thyme in a product.

Great stuff in you thread @Tinytuttle! I just wish I had more time to read. I’ll keep at it. I want to get my first JWA made soon and maybe I’ll get on the bus to start more. My budget would really appreciate it! peace

Is Pure Castile Soap the same thing? As this stuff?

It is ! An oil based soap that is 100 % biodegradable in a week or less and a potassium boost in top of that for a win win situation!

Fucks up leaf hoppers as well as those grasshoppers if they get enough on them!

@Tinytuttle Good. I wanna kill ALL spider mites forever.

Any place I can get the either Potassium Hydroxide KOH for less then $60 or maybe even buy Pure Castile Soap with some essential oils in it as a repellent?

Do you know if Safers soap is biodegradable as well ? Like I can spray the buds and still consume the buds many weeks later?

I bought mine off Amazon for like less then 15$ for 2 lbs maybe it was the KOH flakes that dissolve easily dr bonners is another Castile soap in the states here it runs about 15-17 $ for a liter so a bit more pricey but probably less then safers still

Safe biodegradable as well spray > kill> rinse > dry> chop!

Hmm this is what I found , I just put in potassium hydroxide and picked off the one stated for soap making

I’m wondering if it’s because you’re in Canada maybe?

Shit if that’s the case maybe @Badger could part with some or I could lend a hand but look around a bit more that seems ridiculous imo

I’ll look for the one you found;)

On Amazon.ca the same one you posted a photo of is $54 lol

Dr. Bronner’s Pure-Castile Citrus 32oz. (2 pak) is $52 lol

I’ll look outside of Amazon.ca
So I’m looking for Potassium Hydroxide KOH 90% correct ?

I’d say that would probably work fine I’m not sure what would the other 10% would be But the more pure the better IMO.

@CADMAN I used the $15 one, it worked great

Wow, a $45 difference in the same product? Can you meet someone at the border and have them toss a bottle across to you? Sheez

I think I’ll try and buy mine right away and kick my butt into gear. I spend way too much to grow and I’m sort of a minimalist.

I have that one volunteer plant right outside the back door and I haven’t given it anything at all nute wise and no water from me. It’s as pretty as any plant I’ve ever grown. Lol.

That seed came up on it’s own in a crack in the hard pan clay even before the normal weeds started growing. Only thing I did was cover the seedling a couple of times with a half Gatorade bottle to save it from freeze. If also did some nights with no cover during freezing temps. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:
