Tissue Culture expert needed! Save rare 1970 Clone dying FAST!

That’s really touch and go. When I’m regenerating something sketchy, I always do it in DWC under normal veg light. You can see basically the next day if there is any transpiration. Yah, I’m the stick soaker/regenerator/rooter.

This is a couple days after. As long as it can generate enough energy to live, it will.

Is this a clone from the 70s?! Or an old seed line? What is its lineage? Might be able to preserve it in seedform in the future

From the picture you put up we can see it was a seed plant an not a clone. Looked like it was growing healthy to begin with in the seedling picture. Did the grower start it under very low hour on of light ? Because in the picture of the healthy little seed plant it looks like it has some pistols growing out of the top an a little bud. An in your very first picture the plant has those reveg leaves an afew cylaxes. Not sure what the grower was trying to do but with all the negative factors involved its no wonder it was so stressed. Wouldn’t suprise me if it got some virus or pests with the state of the pot wich may have been killing it.

I would like to hear the whole process of this seed propagation until now.

Any hormones or whatnot used improperly can cause issues. I’m sure the tissue culture people will want to know.

Wonder why he decided to remove it from substrate and disturb the roots ? Seems like a really bad move.

How could you tell?
Wish I had info to give but this is beyond my experience.

The nodes are still facing each other :yum:

Good call I hadn’t thought of that.

In the picture of the tiny healthy seed plant there are still those first rounded cotledon leaves attached at the bottom. This is how I could tell it was a seed plant.

we have 200 W still on this plant.

Tried to very careully explain he must provide a very consistent climate, feed tea and aloe. Never overwater, never let it get too dry…

Do you think the 200 watt are too much? they are also very close to the Plant…

The pic was taken ruffly 36 hours since watering.
But ok, first watering after repotting, hard to judge his watering skills, since first watering often more soaked…

200w cfl light is probably ok. Plants normally do fine quite close to high amounts of cfl. Just have to wait it out now.
