There’s a spot here where the giant lake sturgeon breed in close to shore, hundreds of 5/6/7/8+ ft fish and they completely come out of the water smashing down on each other, I have only witnessed it twice but it’s awe inspiring, especially becuz they look like dinosaurs, and they are 100% protected here so they get monstrous! Just like the musky! Huuuuge

Haha, it’s crazy when I show people pics sometimes and they swear I’m lying ! “Rainbow trout don’t get nearly that big, I can photoshop too” blah blah I’ve heard it so many times, when I actually held the record still I loved showing them that, “oh really?”

I’m a stone’s throw from Ontario and a few stone’s throw from Erie, and about a 10 min walk from the lower Niagara . Cats and carp spawning make me stop fishing, gets nuts that’s for sure. Giant cats in Erie that’s for sure I’ve seen behemoths! They even get a few small pink salmon runs too if u know where to look

The catfish in cold northern waters have to be delicious. What are they channel cats?

Fileting out a 7ish pound channel, rubbing it down with olive oil, season it with some salt, pepper, slap ya mama, and grill it flipping once is amazing.
