@MoBilly mentioned looking at the second to last bag for green material to show up thats why I mentioned it
Yea true.
For me, I never make edibles so I just go for the gold in the 90u, anything in the 25u bag is just a bonus that gets snaked into spliffs.
Here is the last batch. Pulled from the freezer, Sat room temp for two days. Some plant material in there but for the most part Iām stoked on it.
so 90u is the niche? sry for the stupid questions im trying to figure out things before helper gets here
It really depends. For example I had some nice live hash that was 45-189u
But not every cultivar has the same head/gland size
Thats why I suggested 4 to 5 bags so you see where the material is going and the difference in quality
Not a stupid question, I originally thought 73u was the winning bag but @JoeCrowe explained to me that the 90u is where the caps/glands are collected.
Check out his thread brotha. Nonstop gold and cool microscopic timelapse of the crystal forming. I use his method now.
Save your arms and use a drill.
Very true, Not every plant is a good hash maker. This recent run I had over around 20 cultivars but dumped less than when I ran three plants of Sugar Belts x PR/BV. I may have over filled the 5 gallon bucket with material too lol
Luck of the draw with each plant. Iām not specifically hunting for those heavy washers but its cool to stumbled on to them and get some extra goodies from the trim.
no need for such savagery here i got a5 gall washing maxhine
IMO anything above 160 or below 45 is not worth saving.
Good morning @TopShelfTrees1 and friends!
Nothing wrong with all of us showing concern
Good morning everyone. I hear ya guys on the heat. Itās been the annual shift of seasons. I like to say we have two seasons, hot and cold. last week we were a awesome 80f. the week before was 100f, and now this week that just passed was 100f. I cut that stupid tree down right at the nick of time. (my get off my lawn ramble for the day)
For my bubble runs, I use them to make rosin with. To be quite fair thatās very very rare as I HATE the process of making it. I use 25u, 45u, (I forget if itās 120u or 160u to catch junk like hair) then the work bag 220u. I too use a drill with a small paint paddle. I use it in reverse.
nywho, I wish you all an amazing start to your week
Good morning all!
The sessile trichomes are usually about 70-80 microns in diameter, so the 90 bag excludes them. Even rosin made from 73 micron is substandard. I flush it all down the drain and obsessively select for hash productivity.
i ended up using 25/45/73/160/190/220
did one wash 10min agitation in washing machine
yield was poor obviously but wasnt worth effort of doing second wash but was fun to see what got sifted using trash that took place in my cooler
what i learned this run is more bags= more work effort needed
i now will account for this in futur wash
heh heh just remember: garbage in, garbage out.
i wasnt expecting much either but it was taking space so i collected something out of it before it went to trash
Good morning crew! ā¦And welcome back (when you read this) @TopShelfTrees1 .
I had quite an adventure this weekend. ā¦Wonāt go into it here and now, but suffice to say: My latest batch of tincture is THE BOMB.
Iāve read quite a bit about different techniques for making tinctures, but donāt recall seeing any where the maker ~combined~ Everclear and MCT oil at different stages of the process. I tried that and ā brothers (and sisters) let me tell you ā it WORKS GREAT!
EDIT to say that ā after looking specifically for it in another reading through @ReikoX 's excellent thread ā I see that this is not news.
Have you watched any of PāSam Project videos on youtube? He stopped creating videos a few years back but his library is still up with amazing instructional on tinctures and edibles including solvent transfer to mct. I made his everclear tincture recipe and it was easy and worked really well.
I donāt think I seen the PāSam Project videos. The name doesnāt ring a bell, anyway. But I have seen a bunchā¦ YouTube is great resource, but OG is my go-to for all things weed-related.
