So I have 4-5 pounds of ummm- plant… Kinda looks like what you would get on the beach for 10 usd at punta cana except green.
It was given to me at the end of the 2022 growing season for free. The person who grew it said it wasn’t worth their time to trim it.
My original plan was to run it all through bubble bags then press the bubble hash into live resin.
I didnt even want to spend money on ice cause I didnt want to end up sinking money into this.
At the time I figured why not wait for it to snow. free frozen water… Well it never snowed. This bag has been sitting around for over a year pluggen up a breeze in my garage.
Snow this week. Should I continue my plant or trash this shit.

The ice is just to keep the water cold, so if it’s below freezing or about that let the water sit outside to cool down and then make your bubble hash with just water.

So it kinda seems like yall would still deem it workable? I guess it would be a shame to chuck it.
If I am indeed doing all the work. Should i even bother separating differnt grades for smoking/ cooking? Or just use like 3 bags to make 1 good mix (minus the first and last bag) and press it all? What micron bag would use use? Its been a few years since i played with bubble bags.
Would anyone go about this a completely different way than me?

I would man. I make hash from all my trim. The ice is to help break off trichs. As well as help them break with coldness. Use the wash bag then smallest micron. It’ll be a wait but you’ll get it all.

So your saying use two bags and smash the smallest size? That would give me the biggest yield. So you dont think its worth it to try and get some bubble for smoking?

Nice looking hash, but I disagree on the ice being used to help knock off the trichomes, it’s there to keep the water temps down.

Me thinks the ice would cause agitation regardless of if its intended use.
Ice wears continents down.
I would also agree the ice probably helps to bring out chlorophyll as much if not more than it does for THC specifically.

Gonna watch some youtube and figure out my process. its a lot of bud to run.
From what i remember I put all of the bud in a huge bin and mix that up a while. Then run the wash water through the bags. -correct?
After that i can do a second run with everything in the work bag once all the stems are removed and everything is broken down.

Also can make rso with it decarb it throw freeze some everclear and the decarbed weed in some jars give it a shake for awhile strain through coffee filter and reduce down using rice cooker in well vented area

i’m kind of lazy when it comes to processing weed. i’d put it all in a crockpot with butter and let it sit for a few hours, then to the freezer and wait for it to separate. we used to put that on everything. mashed potatoes, toast, biscuits, pancakes, cookies, anything that used butter. never tried it on year old weed though. not much effort though.
5#s doesn’t really fit in a crock pot either. also how much coconut oil would i need? I have found a few feathers and snail shells while looking for mold…
