Trim Jail! How longs was/is your sentence?

I thought you’d do something like use a string trimmer on a bunch of flower you didn’t want to trim. Or a circular saw or something. Trim it up quick. Haha.

I really get tempted to get a bowl trimmer and hook a cordless drill to one but every time i see someone use one something inside me screams ahhhhh what are you doing??Noooooo!!!.I think the closest i would ever get to mechanical Separate would be one of those razorblade fans that have a trim catcher under it for a wet trim to just knock back the leaf trim thats the part that makes me rip my hair out.

I ended up with about an ounce of trim material per pound. It’s really really nice preroll material.

All my trim ends up in paperbags i mix everything together then i dry sift it all on screens at once in one batch.I call it my full spectrum garbage gumbo.Got a little bit of everything in the Kitchen for a nice full melt of blended cannibinoids and Trichomes.I get some nice hash balls off it.Only use the lower two grades second last and the one that always falls to the bottom of very last screen.Shit melts right in your palms like a warm tootsie roll. One of my favorite ways to smoke ganja no Lie.

Disturbs my soul to see that beautiful bud thrown into a machine of tumbling knives. I get it, hell it may be the way to go. Doesn’t make watching it hurt any less.:joy:

We bought a Centurion DBT a few years ago thinking we’d solved all of our problems. Used it one time and now it’s in a box in the garage. I do use it for for dry hash but it’s super expensive for it lol…

Damnnn, sorry to hear that. I thought that would’ve been perfect. Glad I never bought one myself I guess. I was always so jealous.

I’m sure that we never gave it a full honest attempt. Once it hammered my buds I was over it immediately.
We use a Cannatrol and wet trimming seems to be the better approach when using it as it keeps the buds on the sticky(ier) side. The DBT requires the bud to be a bit drier in order to accomplish the trim, which isn’t for me.
It does work pretty good for 150 micron tumbler though.

Sucks that the resale value on a lot of cannabis stuff is so low. At least you get some use out of it though.

I know tumbled buds are the thing now .not what @Indicana_Jones was talking about with the bowl trimmer but im talking about the giant tumbling machines that rotate like giant rock tumblers with wire blades that trim the buds as it rumbles into perfectly rounded off nugs. Those tumbled buds.Reminds me of all the old Beaster buds we had in the 90s.When I think of those it reminds me why i suck it up buttercup and Suffer lol.Just my personal preference but nothing beats a good hand trimmed bud. That tumbled stuff just seemed to me like something knocking off tricomes like kicking a ripe apple tree. But i can see the benefit of having different grades if one so chose to have so thats one way of looking at it i guess

@CapnCannabis these buds went through the bowl trimmer. I think they came out looking pretty good.

I do know what youre talking about where the buds are sheared smooth and uniform. The first time I saw bud like that I thought it was fake :joy:

Those flower pics are from the bowl trimmer?? Shit. I might need one. Haha. I’m about to just start freezing everything and hashing it to skip drying and real trimming completely. Big pains in my ass these days.

Nope. Stop puttin buds in tumblers. Gettin to where the youngsters don’t even know what real bud looks like. Lmao. Whatever works I guess.

Yeah I haven’t attempted a wet trim in this bowl. But the dry trim worked pretty damn well. I thought for sure I was gonna lose all of that knobby goodness for sure. But the knobs were bigger than the grate and I’m pretty sure those little rubber fingers that push the buds around do their part to knock off dry leaves too.

Do they recommend a wet trim? Seems like that could be a nightmare. Haha. Thanks for sharing!! Now I might be eyeballing bowl trimmers for a bit.

I don’t know that they necessarily recommend anything, but it did come with both a wet blade and a dry blade.

After this season I do not want to grow enough that I need a trimmer. But I have seen too many people that use them repeat how it was mostly worth it so now I’m conflicted.
