I was watching a Build a Soil video on YT on cloning and figure I try this “water clone jutsu” that was mentioned. I’ve tried several times in the past-all times were unsuccessful, hopefully this will work for me.
I’ve done a fair amount of experimenting when it comes to cloning and as far as prepping the clones goes I’ve had the best results leaving 3 leaves on the cutting and not cutting the tips of the leaves.
it works well dude… I’ve done it a few times now. change your water daily for better results. I like doing it especially because you go straight into your medium. no cubes, no clone trays and pretty effective. Also just did a round using frash water daily and adding just a drop of microbes everyday. roots in 9 days. right now I’ve jumped into shot glasses and sitting collars on top with clonex gel. been fun experimenting. I should probably wrap the glasses for better results but it’s work! Best of luck man! hope you find the results you need
I saw this guy who posted on reddit he roots in straight perlite and says he get roots in 5 days here the link

Nice, that’s a clean setup for water only lol.
I just suffer with them floating around the top of a cup i need to up my game.
I do this for cuttings of any of my house plants as well.
I really need to get a humidity dome or McGuyver one out of a tote or something…I have a small fear of the stems getting water rot.
Those red Folger coffee containers with some holes poked on the top and an airstone work well.
Really, anything works, just quicker methods with constant oxygen flowing to the roots. Replace that water every couple days, should be great.
Some strains are a PITA to root though, so if it fails, don’t blame yourself. I have seen many “professionals,” be happy when they get 90% success rate and they are taking hundred of clones type thing.
thanks my friend… yeah shot glasses laying around and collars from my dwc cloner. why not it works. cost friendly.
@invisible …I clone in straight perlite but it takes 15 days. There might be a few roots at ten days and I get enviroment plays a part but 5 days is not to realistic for me.
I have been using perlite for cloning dang near 15 years. Almost always works lol
