Twenty20 A-Team Tester Grow

Week 6 for the Devil Fruit autos and Week 1 Flower for VSOP and Queen of Diamonds.

The girls are starting to look good. The DF are stacked and stinky. The photos are ready for flowering. You can’t even tell they went thru a heavy defoliation only a week ago. I’ll do one more defol session at the end of week 3 flower and then it’s up to them. I’m excited. The DF have a terp profile I can only describe as sweet and sour :joy:

Nice! Curious to see how VSOP turns out

Week 7 for Devil Fruit Auto
Week 2 Flower VSOP and Queen of Diamonds

I’m very impressed with how quickly VSOP switched gears into flower last week. This week I’m seeing how strong her lateral branching is. Between the untopped plant and the multi topped bushes, you really can’t see a difference. The untopped bush branches out naturally and still has the main cola. Getting excited to see what she does.

Damn, son! Those are looking nice. Any smells coming from them yet?

The Devil Fruit is what I can only describe as “sweet n sour”. Very interesting nose on it. I’m wondering if it will change after cure.

Week 8 for Devil Fruit auto

I am seeing many notable differences in the Devil Fruit Auto. Two of the 7 are only growing fan leaves with 3 blades. Two are so frosty they appear white. One has more girth than the others. A lot of genetic traits coming through, although none of them look to be negative traits. Trichomes are telling me they could still go for another couple weeks, even though fade is coming on strong for a couple of them.

Week 3 Flower, VSOP and Queen of Diamonds

We had one of our VSOP girls turn herm and had to be culled. It was disappointing given the most excellent structure that this plant is showing. It was the least stressed plant given it was the one that was left untopped and untrained in any way. Other stressors that could have triggered this change were possible light leaks and accidental temperature drops during lights off. These have both been corrected and the rest of the grow room are not showing any signs of male flowers.

The rest of the girls were given a final defoliation. I will avoid any more defoliation unless I think it’s necessary. We’ve exposed so many more flower sights to light and now we will watch them grow.

I am very surprised that the QoD girls didn’t stretch more than what they did. They barely doubled in size. This is important to note if I were to grow this strain again in a scrog setup, I would extend the Veg time to fill more of the screen up before flipping to flower. It doesn’t look like it will fill the entire screen right now, but we made some important discoveries on how we can dial this strain in.

Late update. I’ll have more for next week, but right now Devil Fruit Auto has past the 9 week mark and I will be giving the chop when it comes to an end. She now has a stinky strawberry smell which im in love with. I can’t wait to do a deep dive post for harvest. I have photo plants that still need to flower and no room to dry the autos, so my plan is to turn the entire harvest into fresh frozen bubble hash! Im not mad. I love that shit lol

I think a quick connect for all the lines just in case you do get a clog or need to flush your lines. I’ve never done any automatic watering systems just a thought that came to mind. Now I think about it this was 2 months ago so you probably have your system dialed in by now.lmao anyways that’s my .02

Yep harvesting lol beautiful plants
Those metal screens for scrog where did you get those. Did you just lay on plant or just for the one pic of not how did you attach?

Hey man I appreciate the input! Sadly I pulled the prototype. I was just going to bug with the system. I’m making improvements on the next run with dual systems that will water 4 or 5 plants at a time. And quick disconnect is definitely on the list lol.

The mini scrogs I found at my local Rural King. I managed to grab them when they went on clearance. Two different sizes of screens. I only had to snip the legs down to size for each pot. They do a good job for what they are.

Oh snap I’ve never even thought to look for premade scrogs.LMAO thought was a weed thing never thought that people would use for veg/ornamentals.

Those turned out really nice! I love mendo 20/20’s gear!

Yeah it’s weird. After I found these I started googling for similar screens. You’ll find the same scrogs in the cannabis market, but for about 3x the price. I couldn’t believe it.

Don’t have a rural king but got tractor supply and other such I’ll keep an eyeout. Actually I’ll probably Google that brand and see if I can order

I’ve been slacking on the updates. The rest of the girls were chopped at 8 weeks + 1 day. This is earlier than what I usually prefer, but I could see enough amber to put my worried mind at ease. I did this due to time constraints. We are moving and we need to start showing our house and start packing. Our new home will have a much nicer grow space tho!

First up, Queen of Diamonds

Untopped - the plant kept a very low and compact structure. Strong side branching that gave multiple colas despite not being topped. Very frosty and the large trichomes feel like sand to the touch! 4.33 oz

Topped/clip trained - although the untopped plant gave good side growth, the topped and trained plant gave many more side colas. Definitely looks like she enjoys being topped. 8.55 oz

Scrog 1 - I feel I could have done better with the scrog. This plant did not give a big stretch compared to most strains. This led to the screen being only half filled. A note on scrogging this QOD, I suggest filling the screen completely up during Veg before flipping to flower, as well as topping more than once to encourage strong side branching. 7.80 oz

Scrog 2 - this specific plant showed more compact node structure, giving many uniform tops and colas. This expression would have made a wonderful scrog grow with multiple plants of the same kind. 7.35 oz

Next, VSOP

Scrogs - she is a great candidate for scrog. All 3 mini scrog screens did great! Beautiful tops throughout. Even the smaller nugs are very chunky. 7.26-8.48-6.76

Topped #1- multi topping and lollipopping resulted in some amazing uniform spears. It was so easy to harvest this one and oh so frosty. 9.27 oz

Topped #2 - more amazing long stacked spears with chunky lower flowers. This plant showed much more inter-nodal spacing than the others. Another easy plant to harvest. The contrasting purple stems make for a beautiful bouquet. 7.97 oz

Those are all nice ones. Good work. I like 20Twentymendocino’s work. Got some, got more to grow.

Very nice work!
U messed around with the knows candy much, got one that seems like she stalled out mid flower, not sure what to think about that one or how to maybe jumpstart her

I’m guessing you have your feed program figured out already. 20TwentyMendocino has this listed as an auto. Maybe Knows Candy has some different nutritional needs then? You use a PK booster?

Just soil organics with compost teas, plant appears to be alive, just been in the same state for several weeks and not showing any yellowing or signs of hunger 🤷

Here’s a pic dob was 1/1/23
