Two plants having plenty of issues

Hey you all I’m new here so please don’t be too harsh.

I’m a first time grower and had these two growing outside in a greenhouse for 1,5 months now and brought them inside the tent a week ago.

They showed signs of thrips and spider mites and I used compo pesticide for it and I think it’s helping already but the leaves are showing yellowing and some brown spots.

I’ve used biobizz light mix and didn’t use fertilizers until last week (compo flower fertilizer) , i used half of the recommended dosage and put a small bit of calmag in aswell. I don’t have anything to test pH unfortunately so I’ve got no info about that. Yesterday the right plant had less yellowing so I don’t think I’m doing it right.

Please help me

Hey anima87,
welcome to Over Grow!

From the BioBizz website, concerning your mix.
When using Light·Mix you can apply larger nutrient doses to any kind of plant, including heavy feeders, without the risk of overloading the soil and causing a nutrient burn – indicated by yellowing and crunchy, burnt tips on the leaves.
Not enough fertilizers will also cause a plant to get ugly, since I do not see tip burn, I’d say she is very hungry.

I do not really know that food source, so myself, I would follow their recommended numbers when mixing some up.
I’d remove the yellowing leaf, give her some bloom food, and hope for the best, maybe start some new seeds, in the mean time.
We have ALL been there, with off plants, it is just part of the learning curve.
Wish you all the best, however you decide.

Thanks @webeblzr I’ll try that. I didn’t know that I don’t have to worry too much about nutrient burn etc. With this soil

Hey @anima97 welcome to the OG! I agree with @webeblzr they look very hungry. Make changes a step at a time you don’t want to change too much at once so you can see what is and is not working. Congrats on keeping your plants alive this long and :crossed_fingers:for a strong finish. Best of luck! And happy to have you here!

Thank you @Gadarien for your input. I’ll give the plants a good feeding next watering and also cut the leaves, wish me luck

Hey @anima97, Welcome to Overgrow!!
You will get them to the finish line and a harvest.

No worries about ‘catching flak’ around here… :+1:
It’s just not that kind of place…

Cheers

Are they autos? Id b more concerned with the pests u brought in the tent. Maybe add some Dr Zymes and rotate. A diversity in attack is more efficient. Every 3 days for the 1st 2-3 weeks inside.

You got this

How often do you water?
If you use store-bought gallon-jug water (look for ‘‘purified’’ and look for the ones that say 'using reverse osmosis!) and add 1/2 tsp white distilled vinegar- it usually takes the pH right to 6.5… I know it’s a bitch to buy it- but not knowing whether there is chlorine, fluoride or a weird pH with your water, it’s your best bet.
Don’t add vinegar with the nutrients-- unless you get a pH test kit or meter-- you will be ‘‘winging it’’ but that water is usually 7.0-7.3…at least you will know that, no way to know what your tap water is without testing–where we live, it runs 8.5-9.2!!!

Only water when the soil dries out, but before they start to wilt…and feed once a week. When watering/feeding, use enough liquid to saturate all the soil, and so some comes out the bottom Use a drip-tray-- let it get some standing water, let it set an hour to uptake what it wants–then dump the rest. Are those basic black plastic pots with large drain holes-- or decorative ones with small or no holes…you may have a root problem if there isn’t enough drainage- or if the bugs laid eggs in there!

If you remove all the leaves and non-productive ‘‘sucker branches’’ from the bottom 1/3 of the plant- it will concentrate it’s energy on healing the portion of the plant that actually produces the most bud.

Good luck-- keep us posted!!

Thanks for the tips @Lady.Zandra63 very helpful, especially knowing I should only feed about once per week. Where I live the pH of the water is around 7,69 according to the official website of our water providers. How should I go about it with this amount?

The pots are some I borrowed from my mother before I bought the growtent which are actually just basic pots with holes drilled in them

I’m usually just watering when the soil is dry and the pot is light.

I’m a little confused on when to feed and how often for the most part and how much calmag I should add plus how often aswell.

Do you have some different tips regarding the growtent usage? For example I have the fan pointed just a little over the right plant on the lowest setting and setup the vent controller to 5 from 10 and get around 25 degrees Celsius and about 50-53% humidity

If the fan can oscillate, do that pointed well above the plants or at the light. Or it can dry out the leaves…what lights you using? Best bet for your nutes is to go to the products website and see if they have a feeding chart.
Also…get more/bigger drainage holes…if you can get the cheap black plastic nursery pots in a 3 gallon size, replant them!
For pH…test strip kits are very cheap on Amazon!:+1:

If you’re in a legal cannabis is cheap your sanity isn’t. Throw that auto out and start with a photoperiod tester freebie and the right tools to check your soil temps, environment rh etc.

Update: these are freshly made pictures and I have the feeling that everything just got way worse

@Lady.Zandra63 do you have any advice on this?

Did you start those autos IN those pots-- or transplant them from cups?
It is really hard for auto’s to recover-- you may have to start over.
Auto’s are a ‘‘different animal’’ than regs-- but still need good light, the right planters/soil/nutes–and are fed differently…
Some people hate autos-- that’s them. I feel they have their place, and are especially nice for limited spaces, resources and short grows…If you decide to start over- can help walk you through it…but the 1st thing is to ditch those planters!!
What lights are you using?? And you will HAVE to use better water and get a pH test kit or test-pen/wand… a LOT of that damage is a pH lock-up!

Sorry for the late update, but my plants recovered very well and are flowering like nothing else.

My tap water pH is around 7 and I lowered it with biobizz pH down and gave them a good feeding.

For around 1,5/2l water I use:

  • 0,3ml biobizz ph down
  • 1,5ml calmag
  • 5ml compo flower fertilizer

Here are some juicy pics, giving them at least two more weeks of fattening up

Also can someone tell me what these two small plants are? They randomly appeared but don’t seem to do any harm

Wow great job man! You made it to finish that should get you some confidence. Feels great growing your own medicine doesnt it.
Ill tell you the easiest solution next time to simplify everything. Get yourself a big bag of fox farm ocean forest and big bag perlite. Add 25 percent perlite to the soil that will provide you everything start to finish and help you with drainage until your more experienced watering and feeding… No need to worry about nutes this early in your career. The ocean forest has everything youll need to grow great herb.

Focus on watering correctly and light distance. Make sure to buy cheap purified water if you dont have ph testing stuff, what i do. If you can stop by here and i could recommend some good begginner strains like hindu kush or northern lights. Good luck to you.

Also make sure to properly dry and cure its the most important step to ensure good flowers.

Thank you. Yeah this really does give me confidence, I learned a shit ton on my first grow and will incorporate everything I’ve learned in the next grow. I already informed myself on how to harvest, trim, dry and cure.

I’ll also give them a budwash because I grew them outdoors for their whole veg time and also used pesticides, so I’ll wash it off as best as possible
