Tyson vs Paul

Two body shots followed up by that trademarked devastating uppercut!

A lickle a.i. humor, don’t you think it’s funny?

Like most, i think, i would get a little satisfaction from seeing Mike do something epic but i just feel like Jake will manage to stay away, wrestle and whatever garbage.
And then if Mike gets tired he’s probably easy to ‘put away’ at that age. Jake does at least have power. If nothing else. :man_shrugging:

It is funny, I didn’t realize it was a joke, so egg on my face. In the MMA/Boxing world, rumors like this get spread all the time, combined with shitty fights like this getting all the attention while the sport of boxing is having a Renaissance moment, I am a bit jaded.

Cannot blame you, it looks freaking real!

If you really want to watch boxing, you will probably look forward to Beterbiev VS Bivol

This is going to be a great match

All I know is, if Paul doesn’t lose the fight, he’s definitely losing an ear!!

So, I thought all those Jake Paul fights were essentially “rigged” exhibition fights because he’s some hot shot YouTuber or something? Isn’t that why you cant bet on those fights but all others you can? Thing is… I don’t think Tyson can take the fall, dudes gonna F him up

No. The fight were real. I can write a thesis paper on this whole situation, but in short, Paul picks his fights. He fights MMA fighters past their prime, usually smaller, and due to the nature of UFC pay structure (fighters make as low as 13% of annual revenue, max 16%) they end up physically broken without a whole lot of savings by their mid to late thirties outside of the top .1%.

He hand picks his fights, plays the classic heel, and causals pay to see him get beat by “real fighters” who end up (usually) losing boring ass fights or getting knocked out.

He has to step up competition for this to keep being worth it, because again, it’s a real fight and he really does train seriously.

Tyson is nearly 60. He hasn’t been good for 30 years, and he coasted 10 years on a name and raw talent. He can win, anybody can win a fight, and that’s why people will tune in.

Alright, fair enough. Ive got an MMA friend and had heard other rumblings about him. Kinda thought he’s been out there fighting Marcellus Wallace fights, And the lack of any gambling kinda reinforced the concept of it being rigged for me, especially all the washed up fighters like you say that needed the pay. Happy to be wrong tho, no weight in the game. And he’s suckered me in on this one. Still, washed up and 60, I’m pretty sure Tyson would wreck 90% of amateurs in a fight and I Don’t see him taking a fall. too much ego, He only bit Holyfields ear off because he realized he was going to lose. Will either be a great match or over in 45 seconds

I know DraftKings had the Paul vs Diaz fight betting fwiw

Depends on the amateur. I’m pretty sure there are many, many amateur heavyweights who would reck his shit. Even some cruser and light heavyweights.

Keep in mind, Olympic gold medal boxers are amateurs. Some amateurs have hundreds of fights before going pro, Tyson and Wilder are two major exceptions in terms of few amateur fights before going pro.

Tyson went for HW glory at a time when HW was historically weak. He’s tiny by today’s heavyweights standards, and small by the standard in boxing during his prime. None of this takes away from how incredible he was, especially when he had Cus training him. I won’t go on about that, but seriously consider looking into their relationship and Cus’s back story, it’s fascinating.

Paul isn’t a heavyweight, he’s never felt power like Tysons, that’s why he’s not going to trade. His 2nd fight with Woodley is imo likely his gameplan. He’s going to move backward, take potshots at Tyson moving in, clinch as soon as Tyson closes the distance, wash, rinse repeat until the bell rings. If he doesn’t tire Tyson out at some point, or if Tyson never overcommits in the hopes of getting a KO, it will likely be a boring fight…

Or Tyson ruptures his liver with a body shot and follows up with the uppercut that killed Kennedy, and I get to eat my words with a big grin on my face.

Who cares anymore…16 oz gloves, NO SCORING, NO winner declared. Bunch of bullshit for money, WILL NOT be getting any of mine. 100% lost any respect for Tyson.

I don’t think its his choice. I imagine they applied to the commission and the commission declined to sanction it. Idk for sure.

Good news is, he can juice himself even more.

I hadn’t seen that, not following closely anyway tbh.

Guess that voids my single bet… but I still hope Mike kisks his ass.

It going to be a joke unless the public stirs them up and they actually fight, my bet is they just want the money, and it will be stupid. Feel Tyson could not even go 5 rounds without having a heart attack

I think with no scoring, declared winner Tyson just has to knock him out
