Vernal's Basement Follies

Close. You want potassium sulfate, not nitrate. I had accidentally typed nitrate earlier, my fault.

I’m guessing it’s the one on top?

Thanks!

Yep that’s it. Bottom one is also Potassium sulfate. Either will probably be fine.

Like any bloom booster, the one I make will lower pH. However, it’s the phosphorous that really lowers pH, so using 50% monopotassium phosphate and 50% potassium sulfate lessens that effect somewhat.

Your needs might require less potassium. Dyna Gro Bloom is 3-12-6, so a medium-lower phosphorous and higher potassium bloom booster is needed. Some people just use monopotassium phosphate as their bloom booster. However, I also like the extra sulfur that my mix provides.

Thanks @MichiGreen. When do you start adding this and when do you stop? Thanks!

What do you think, @vernal?
I’ve never tried using MKP… I picked up some phosphorus and potassium from RAW and dose it according to their feeding schedule…
Phosphorus 0.70g/gal flower weeks 1-3
Potassium 0.95g/gal flower weeks 4-6

I think I read somewhere that PK Boost should be applied during week 5 of an 8 week cycle…
you can probably read a lot of variations and opinions on that depending on the grow environment and feeding. Maybe someone here more familiar with PK boosters can give you a better answer or mention how they apply it… :tanabata_tree:

I use it the entire flower period, I only cut it in late flower when the plants stop drinking as much.

Mordida (Nierika Acapulco Gold x Nierika Zipolite Oaxaca) at 77 days. Gonna be harvested at day 100 so hurry up!

Bandaid Haze #8 at day 75. Winner girl right here. Less than 10 days to go for the earlier finishing females. This is probably the best plant I’ve ever found in seed. I think I can really do a great job if I monocropped it from clone.

More of the purple Bandaid Haze #8 and the #3 on the right. Very similar, just not quite as smelly. Whole lotta F2 stock coming up, stay tuned this winter!

Hey man… I got my stuff. 1/2 tsp of each or combined to 5 gal?

Hey man … a tsp of each or combined? I got the stuff today. Feeding it tonight to flower tent @ week 3. Starting at 1 gram per gallon of each per product instructions. Does that sound about right?

1/2 tsp each per 5 gallons. It’s crazy strong, MKP by itself is like 0-52-0, so a little goes a looong way.

I run that all through flower after it starts pushing pistils all the way until the plants stop drinking as much towards the end.

If your leaf tips are slightly burnt, you know they’re getting enough to eat!

Congrats! You just bought a 10 year supply of bloom booster for $20!

That’s very affordable PK boosting…
thanks for the suggestions @vernal.

Happy Growing!

PS. It’s getting weird outside with snow on the ground and leaves still falling from the trees. Are you gonna be riding around the yard mulching leaves shooting snow from the mower deck?

Sheeeeeeiitt I use a reel mower! I kinda hate it, but my yard is tiny and I am down to not be mixing 2 stroke fuel and changing spark plugs. Thank God my yard is treeless. Now that damn neighbor’s gigantic elm on the other hand…

Too bad it’s not a maple…
you could tap that bitch.

OK. Well, maybe that’s sort of Canadian humor…

At least I grew up playing hockey when I was a little kid… near Canada…
Really, like up in northern New York State near the St. Lawrence Seaway.
A lotta snow… and maple trees.

Thanks! You’re of course getting a pack when they’re ready, so you can try your hand at the bandaids.
