Wow I’ve never seen one that size! How long have u had that one? So do u feed it or does it feed itself?

I think that would be a damned good solution to my fungus gnats

I bought 2 from Walmart last year and they’re still alive very simple to grow…

One more thing I have peat moss and sand is that good enough to use or do I need sphagnum moss too?

I’ve had that clone for about 5 1/2 years now. It would be twice as big if I hadn’t sold a bunch of them. It keeps itself fed, but you don’t have to give it anything for it to thrive. They’re efficient enough that they can pull trace minerals out of the sphagnum.

I’m gonna get me another now that I know how I killed the other, that is if I can find one. I think I bought mine at Walmart. Thank u 4 sharing that with us. It’s really cool.

Flytraps aren’t the most effective pest control, but sundews are straight fungus gnat slayers! I actually use them to clear them out and they’re very effective!

You can use sand, but perlite is better. Pure long-fiber sphagnum is my favorite. If you use peat make sure it says sphagnum peat, not just peat. They often sell Spanish moss and other unacceptable substitutes as “peat moss.” Also, never use any Miracle Grow brand products even their perlite. They sneak that shitty nitrogen loaded fertilizer into everything, it will kill your flytraps.

Careful who you go through on Amazon or especially Ebay. Lots of crappy sellers on there.

I’m gonna chk out the local nurseries tomorrow. I don’t care for plants in the mail. My black heavenly bamboo was the only thing that survive the mail.

I order most of mine through the mail and really have had no issues. It really just depends on who you’re dealing with like cannabis seeds. Just had a very sensitive $80 Cephalotus sent to me no problems. Local nurseries often have flytraps this time of year.

Who do you recommend ordering from for carnivorous plants?

Amazing discovery! These would take out predatory insects as well?

California Carnivores and Sarracenia Northwest for carnivorous plants in general. Check out Fly Trap Store if you’re specificly looking for Venus fly traps.

Not if they’re much larger than the fungus gnats. The same size or smaller, yes.
