@blowdout2269 as predictible as this film was I squirmed the entire time! This is in the category of “You must let it take you for the ride and allow for suspension of disbelief”. There were several movies at the video store that would get complaints from neurotypicals as “bad movies” because they just fought the movie the entire time.

One that always upset me when complained was “Strings”…

It’s all marionettes and the world building is so grand it holds up there with lord of the rings and secret of Nimh! There’s full on army vs army battles by the end and the behind the scenes is INSANE.

Anyways, I’m watching this right now because why not have some nostalgic brain bleach on a Monday morning.

Same here.
The camera did a good job at giving ya that gut-sinking feeling more than once, lol.

I agree with this 100%.
I’ve seen so many B rated films that could have done way better monetarily, had the audience approached them with an open mind.

The thing I keep reminding folk about B and C movies before digital cinematography was that all that shit was expensive and still required a crew that knew what they were doing to even end up with a usable product no matter how shlock it can get.

Take for example: “Tromeo and Juliette”. It’s totally fucked but shot on 35mm, ridiculous practical effects and but everyone was so into it that if you are open to it you’ll dig what they did to. Every shot cost them money so no matter what there was still production value in execution.

I have never turned off so many B or C movies in my lifetime than the last 10 years… when everything can be “fixed in post” and digital media is so cheap by comparison to analogue film workflows that quantity over quality is a huge issue discovered in post production.

They always seem to forget that you can’t polish a turd.

Will be referencing this for stuff to watch in the future as we have a hard time picking whats next lmao.

Tons of gold to mine here :eyes:

Currently we just started,
Escape at Dannemora.

Directed by Ben Stiller, starring Benicio Del Toro.
Everything ive seen him in has that grit, have to say I haven’t had a show get in my head like this one in many years, very well done. May be triggering for some, I know it had me feeling some kinda way lol, just a heads up.

Been re-watching Norsemen (Vikingane) whilst I’m off work sick :face_with_thermometer:

If you’re looking for a good laugh with a side order of blood and guts, this is for you.

@Mad_Barry if you haven’t checked out “Miracle Workers” I highly recomend if you like Norsemen.

Season 1: Heaven (the office staff that run Heaven under their manager, God)
Season 2: Medieval Times (self explanatory spoof)
Season 3: Oregon Trail (Western spoof)
Season 4: End of Days (Mad Max spoof)

Each season has the same principal cast and they are all having a serious amount of fun during the production!
