If I hadn’t binged this the other day I would be pretty bummed about your spoiler.
I recall at one point in the early 2000’s asking why a bunch of guys at a show were beating down a little-shit emo looking fucker and one of the “onlookers” said: “He picked a fight with those guys over Green Day being the only true punk bank…” (he paused) “… why he decided to do this with a punch of linebacker looking mother fuckers all wearing Black Flag patches?.. I can only assume alcohol.”
We almost laughed, but security had come out by this point to stop the fight on the street (beat down, there was no fight) so we finished our smokes and went back into the show.
Good times!
edit: reminds me of the time i was in Venezuala during the World Cup, Italy vs Brazil. I was in a pub/bar on a beach where the big deal was the large screen tv on one side playing the game. I’m not a huge sports fan, but love the humanity in sports so I stayed on the other side and ate and chatted with whom I was with.
The majority of the time I was there Brazil was winning so it was rowdy and posititve… and then Italy scored a goal and 1 guy in the MIDDLE of this crowd cheered… and then silence.
He knew he fucked up right then and there as every eye was on him and our server looked worried… The local friend with us immediately asked for the bill and the moment the server turned and went FAST to go get it was the same moment we saw 3-5 guys stand up and PICK UP the Italy cheerer and “walk calmy” outside while the guy being held struggled desperatly.
When we got outside to the car we saw nothing, but to this day I still cannot un-hear the sounds of that guy getting beaten by angry drunks only sightly muffled by the dumpster they took him behind to do the deed.
No one else seemed phased about this other than a general look of “I can’t believe he cheered for Italy!” on their collective faces!
Slick, Sorry about that bro…
TBH if a show “ends” in 2013 and the “reboots” in 2021 we can assume that the character is dead from the original writers stand-point…
All good I finished the season in one day so you didn’t spoil it for me. Just saying I would have been bummed if I hadn’t finished it already.
A few years ago (long enough that if this spoils anything for anyone it’s their own fault) my buddy did the worst spoiler ever. I didn’t have cable (only streaming) and if I wanted to see a weekly show I had to wait until it aired and then within a few minutes it would be uploaded online. On Walking Dead they left it at a cliff hanger with a main character about to get their head bashed in but you didn’t know who it would be. I was literally sitting at my computer mindlessly messing around on the internet counting the minutes until I could see who got killed after waiting months. Ten minutes from being able to watch it I get a text from my buddy. “Holy shit dude that was crazy the way Glen’s eye popped out!”.
I was not happy
Depends on the show. Anyone who watched the original run knows how they loved to play with that “this is the end of the road… but wait!” dynamic. I found myself saying out loud “how the hell in the internet age with facial recognition and everything else is he ever going to pick up elsewhere”, but also thinking back to the close calls on the original series I didn’t see it going the way it did, specially when they could have milked it if they wanted to.
I thought it was pretty good though and definitely scratched the nostalgia itch too.
Yeah last time someone ruined moment like that for me it took 2 years to get them back. OH and it was good… I forget WHAT the spoiler was becuase their reaction IS what I remembered:
They got SOOO upset they STOPED watching the show
I won x 100.
2021 = Everything can be deepfaked or CGI’d on a cell phone owned by a child… so everything is now super boring now.
I never got him back for it directly but he’s a kneejerk reaction guy and I have a quick temper, plus this all happened through text so tone is lost. I called him a prick and kind of bitched him out but as much as I was actually pissed I was in disbelief and I could recognize how ridiculous it was. From his side though I was just bitching him out so his reaction was to be pissed, which pissed me off that he was pissed at me when he was the one that fucked up. So it was a mini fight on top of the spoiler
Warriors: 2022 is gonna be all like:
Rogues Member: “Warriors… come out and… play…ayyy!!!” (*bottles clinging)
Warrior Member: “That’s very insensitive of you! You have offended me and my feelings are hurt.”
Rogues Member: “OH!” (drops bottles from fingers), “I’m so terribly sorry. I didn’t intent to make you feel this way. My apologies, we should go converse about this over brunch”
Warriors and Rogues together:
I absolutely love that “Mom and Dad” brings Cage into the Tylerverse, so we can always hope for some media construction in where Mom and Dad team up with Nick Sax and Happy! from “Happy!”; and “Crank 1 & 2’s” Chev Chelios to fight an unstoppable supernatural force.
Chev, is STILL on fire from the end of Crank 2: High Voltage and remains on fire during the entire production. Nick is still cursed and retains to have his nigh-invulnerability whilst he is miserable, in pain and suffering. Happy! continues to regress since becoming Nick’s imaginary friend but soon finds other outside influences through interacting with each of the menagerie. Nick Cage as “Dad” cages out using every role he’s played since before changing his last name from Coppola, and Selma Blair as Mom is now a bad ass like Ellen Ripley from the Alien franchise; but instead of trying to SAVE her kids she’s still obsessed with killing them.
All in all in the end, whatever they were look for was inside them the entire time, and the body count is higher than the 3+hr edit of “Kingdom of Heaven” which is the ONLY one that made any sense.
Yeah but when he drops the bottles they both cry about the accidental littering.
GOOD EDIT @Slick1 !
Catching up on the Witcher. Just finished The Expanse.
If you’re a fan of documentaries, you have to watch The Alpinist on Netflix. I’m about to finally finish up season 7 of Weeds, feels like it jumped the shark… Explained: The Mind is also really good
We loved Bordertown on Netflix, from Europe, just watch the series first, we watched the movie that came after the series, and did not realize until later.
Enjoyed Cowboy Bebop, and then watched the original series.
Enjoyed Alice In Borderland a Korean slasher/gamer movie.
Damn, I’m blanking out all of a sudden…phreaking oldtimers syndrome.
