I watched The Adam Project last night and thought it was pretty damn good. I expected it to be decent but I liked it even more than I thought I would.

I did watch “What if Canadian’s had feelings?” (aka: Turning Red).

Wanted to enjoy it as it takes place in my home city but so many things threw me out of the story but the top two for me:

  1. Toxic family dynamics, while story driven, cannot be excused by a simple bow-tie ending.
  2. Liberties taken with the realities of the struggle of actually living in Toronto (aka: location of their temple/house, cost of living, etc).

I don’t know… the film wasn’t aimed for me as a target audience but that usually doesn’t matter unless there’s something deeper underlying my lack of enjoyment. :man_shrugging:

Really good movie…I actually started thinking about my childhood and parents…

Finally figured out how to access HBO Max since its part of my cable package and binged this today.

Absolutely hillarious. If John Cena did that with wrestling, I mighta watched it! lol. Not sure what hooks me though, his wit / humor / outbursts, the hair metal feel between the bands he likes, music chosen and even the opening sequence and the lettering on the credits, or just the fact that its fucked up superheroes who aren’t perfect.

Either way, its a recipe that works. I want a season 2!!!

you’re missing out, its fuckin gold man!

Hairy crack!!! It’s the new show at Walmart. Red tag datass.

@Pigeonman and @Nagel420 I just finished up the last episode of Peacemaker and you guys were right.

I told my GF hey you should watch this show with me, it’s going to sound absolutely terrible (because it did to me) but you have to trust me. I said ok first off it stars John Cena, she cringed hard. Secondly he’s a super hero, I thought she might vomit. Showed her a pic of him with the stupid helmet and told her he has a pet eagle name Eagley, she started making all kinds of excuses. So I’ll make her watch an episode tonight

Vigilante is awesome… And Harcourt is damn sexy… The chainsaw scene(s) with Vigilante and “dyed beard” was hillarious… So was Vigilante’s balls being electrocuted while Peacemaker is like “Keep going, I wont break, throw whatever you want at me” LOL

If that was John Cena in wrestling, I mighta watched wrestling… His “zero filter” mouth is awesome.

I want a season 2…

btw. Just noticed Amazon Prime has a season 2 for Upload done. Checkin that out now…

And the GF was watching Gemstones from the middle, didn’t hook me. I started at the beginning, and admit, its pulled me in now…

James Gunn directing AND Liv Tyler? hmmmm… Plus the whole premise of a hero without heroic skills is just drawing me in already

Made me think of The Greatest American Hero series from the early 80s. High school teacher is given an alien super suit but lost the instruction manual…

I vaguely remember that, but didn’t watch it. Doubt it was as cynical as these seem to be though  And thats the little twist I like. Not everything is covered in roses

Superheroes have real problems too. And can be assholes. LOL

edit: on Peacemaker soundtrack I’ve realized a few of the tunes (including the opening) are from a REAL 80’s hair metal band named… get this… “Wig Wam”. I dunno about you guys but I remember wigwam’s as those socks girls wore outside their jeans, scrunched down. LOL. WHY would a harder hair metal band name themselves after socks? :exploding_head:

They had Hardline’s “Hot Cherie” in there too. I remember them, saw them at the fairgrounds in like 93 I think. Was one of the guitarists from Journey’s solo project. Pretty good album too…

And Kix… saw them as well… The soundtrack also helped pull me in to that series…
