My kid had one pulled almost 2 weeks ago. I felt kinda bad the first few days that he couldnā€™t eat solid food, but he didnā€™t even care :joy: he was too busy eating ice cream and chuggin smoothies

I wish you success on that!
Avoid your ā€˜triggersā€™ at all costs.

Man you putting yourself through it, but if you had teeth pulled you donā€™t want dry sockets, thatā€™s really painfull. So quitting the cigs and weed is a good idea but I sympathize with your dilemma. I hope you get over it quickly.

I had to come off the weed after periodontal surgery work, because it made the dry mouth unbearable. I donā€™t do pharmaceutical pain killers either so it was an awful month of recovery.

Thanks bud, I needed to quit smoking :smoking: . Itā€™s time now more than ever. Iā€™m done with smoking bud for a bit. Until my mouth fully healsā€¦my wife said the same thing, cigs bud and no sleep lol makes for a grumpy guy lol. Nah I stay happy. I have been taking small doses of mushrooms and ediblesā€¦ @Gpaw my largest trigger is waking up. Once I get past that Iā€™m good for the day
Thank you guys for your support.

There is a couple of (Dental Professional Recommended) products I know of on the market that are designed to aid in Dry Mouth ā€œIssuesā€. @Pawsfodocaws These might help you too, after youā€™ve healed up a bit more. :relieved:

The First is called Mouth Kote and this one is made of ā€œall Natural Ingredientsā€:

The second is called biotene:

I realize youā€™re likely not still having the mouth troubles, for future reference though these are good products to be aware of!
If I had known or been told about either of these products years ago, I might still have all my teeth! Big Pharma SUCKS

Thanks I will make a note of it. Although my wife has told me we are getting a divorce if I ever have the other 2 teeth worked on that I was supposed to have done after the 1st 2 lol.

It was supposed to heal in 7 to 10 days with minimum discomfort. My face was bruised from my forehead to my shoulder and so swollen I could not eat for 10 days.

I would wake in the morning after very little sleep and my tongue would be stuck to the roof of my mouth where they took the skin for the graft. As soon as I unstuck my tongue it would pull the stitches and there would be blood everywhere, it looked like someone sacrificed a goat in bathroom every morning lol.

In the end I would coat my tongue in coconut oil before going to bed to try and stop it. That stuff looks like a better option cheers :+1:

OMGā€™s!!! Thatā€™s horrible, Iā€™m so sorry the ā€œProfessionals/Practitionerā€™sā€ who did that to you, didnā€™t give you less stressful, after care options!

Iā€™ve got a real beef with the ā€œMedical SickCareā€ & ā€œDental SickCareā€ system in this country both are designed to drain your wallet or your health, especially if your wallet is already empty/drained! Rant over!

If Iā€™m correct youā€™re not in Canada, Iā€™ve been through similar mouth pain though, so I can completely empathize. :confounded:

Iā€™m glad you got through it okay. :relaxed:

I thought the defining characteristic of musaka was the eggplant.

Still, that sounds delicious!

I am in Canada, I had the work done at Dalhousie university dentistry training center so it only cost $350 instead of $1200.

The dentist was already qualified and had been a practising peridontal surgeon in France and emigrated to Canada, then had to re take all his qualifications.

It took nearly 18 months before it stopped being painful and I still occasionally get some nerve pain from it. My body does not like invasive procedures, it always gets an infection.

Nova Scotia, right! :slightly_smiling_face:

My apologies for not checking that. :pensive:

Iā€™m also sorry you didnā€™t get through it so well, my body doesnā€™t cope well with invasive surgeries either.

I usually, have to go in more than once because the ā€œPractitionerā€™sā€, missed something on the first go round.

I thankfully havenā€™t had anyone misplace jewelry, as far as Iā€™m aware!

Perhaps youā€™d like it better with those smaller Asian eggplants? I hate the big ones but like the little ones.
