Which grow tent to buy (Europe)

Hey guys,

Because I have not had enough space to practice my favorite hobby , I would like to buy an additional growtent. Size 4"x8" // 120 x240

Which brand can you recommend me?
(I live in Europe -Benelux)

Are those gorrila grow tents really worth it? In this environment, these tents are double the price of others.

I hope you can help me a bit because there is just too much choice and I don’t know what is good and what is trash.

Gorilla is quality but not necessary.

I like my Mars tent but there are cheaper options.

Homebox is what I would go for

thanks for the tips. I was already looking at reviews on YouTube, but in my opinion everyone who makes these reviews is paid in one way or another by a company. That’s why this question is for people who really use the tents.

Depends if you prefer a whitish exterior (home box) or dark tent (the others).

Also most tents have a (kind of) mylar fabric, silverish with little bumps. Only the home box has the white (panda) fabric.
The white is supposed to be a bit better with reflectiing the light in the tent, but only a few % afaiu.

One important detail regarding the home box:
afaik their air intakes are only flat square mesh with a flap (+velcro).
So if light is an issue in your room don’t get a home box.

Many of the other tents have a (short) tube for air intake which can be fitted with a ‘light filter’…

Royal Room tents are good for the price in my experience.

so the light is definitely a problem in the room. I can’t help it but the room isn’t dark

Look :eyes: at the A/C infinity tents :tent:, they are about a step under gorilla :gorilla: and the cost :heavy_dollar_sign: is much more pocket friendly.:ok_hand::facepunch::+1::sunglasses::v:

I’m also very happy with my AC Infinity 4x4. It has a great build quality and, as mentioned above, it comes in at a more reasonable price.

They have great customer service also, just look at what they are currently doing their Cloudray fans.

I don’t know if they are even around but Apollo
Is very cheap.
I have seen folks pay out the wazu for tents.
Honestly a pin prick of light leak here or there
Has made zero difference for me.
But it’s really up to your budget, I been using my Apollo for 6 years and it cost me 40 bucks lol
Good luck

Mammoth Elite HC 240L Kweektent (120x240x240cm)

Better than gorilla.

So I know this thread is a year old but this question could come up again in the future I bet.

Here are my 2 cents:

  • Homebox is the best on the market bar none. Better than Gorilla tents. Gorilla tents are usually recommended so much due to their additional height options. Homebox has since thrown tents on the market with 220cm height as well (I got one). They are pricey though but I think the investment is worth it, at least for your flowering tents. For veg I might go with a cheaper option. Also the PASSIVE air intake thing has been solved since. The new versions have round intakes with a screen to let only air through and 2 fabric discs, one for inside, one for outside, that you can put in there if you want to avoid light leaks.
You can fold the outside of the disc towards the bottom and the inside towards the top to avoid like leaking but if that is not enough, you just close both of those passive vents with the covers and use one of he 3+ openings at the bottom of the tent for ventilation. There you can insert a light trap like the secret jardin stuff or simply put in a bit of air ducting that points up in the tent and down outside of it. Can of course also add an inline fan for active air intake.
  • Secret Jardin is a pile of shit in my book. Super flimsy, comparatively expensive and full of light leaks. I use a Hydroshoot 100 for my veg tent and I hate it and already would like to replace it but doubt I will since I can’t be bothered to take everything down again after just setting it up. Gonna suffer through it I guess. Wish I had spend a little more for a Homebox instead.
  • Mammoth and Secret Jarding are essentially the same company (they started as the same company. Husband and wife actually that divorced and then split the company lol. Husband is Mammoth, Waifu is SJ). I would go with Mammoth if you look for a budget version as they are usually cheaper than the SJ crap still and probably even better. I might buy their propagator tent (90x60x60) as it is a unique size that fits my needs and a good price. Generally speaking, Mammoth has some unusual sizes available as well. Like they are one of the few where you can find a 100x100x180 tent for example.
  • Diamondbox I have a 80x80x180 tent from them and even though I haven’t tested it for light leaks yet, just from the construction etc. it’s like Secret Jardin, a budget version but better in every way and cheaper to boot.

Others I don’t have experience with yet so can’t comment. Spiderfarmer, Mars Hydro, AC infinity seems overpriced to me. I would always go Homebox instead as I am convinced Homebox will always be better. You might get a good deal with them if you buy other equipment from them as well or it might work better with their tent, don’t know.

With regard to vendors, which might be the more important question:
I am currently scouring the web but haven’t found a vendor with more products available and better prices than led grower eu based out of czech republic I believe.
