Which tent to buy

Well. Im all for spending. But if the deal is right I’ll consider both. So far im looking into AC and gorilla. Thanks for these suggestions. Im going to head dive in some price searching and I’ll post what I come up with once it’s purchased.

Another vote for Gorilla. Things like this are why you should buy once cry once so to speak because it WILL last a long time vs cheap stuff. By now we all should know this depending on how long you plan to have and use things. I buy cheap throw away crap at harbor freight but quality type tools I buy what will hold up and last. Plan on using this for a few years or more ? Gorilla. Plan on having to replace in after a couple grows when the zippers go bad and seams start coming apart ? Buy a vivosun or some other cheap stuff.

Better off in the long term buying items by what you want not what is tossed into a “package” of what stuff the sellers of these “kits” have on hand that they buy by the pallet and push out in “packages”.

Makes sense to me. And I came here instead of amazon reviews because reviews tend to be one sided on there. The guys with 10+ years of good compliments never post it. They post on forums for newbs like me to track down.

You’ll only get honest answers here vs Amazon or fleebay

Its how I got my 2x2x4.5ft tent with light and exhaust fan with a timer for under $200.

Well leaning towards gorilla. What would I need once buying the tent? Suggestions to lights and controls? Looking for everything to start. So far im at a 4x4 gorilla tent. Not sure if that’s too much but growing space is growing space. 6 full plants is the goal longer term

Have two vivosun 4x4. Older one looks like it’s been hit with bird shot there are so many light leaks through the canvas. Poles have broken at the corners and duct taped back together. It’s still my main flowering tent for testing so I can stress test the shit out of things. The newer one, last year, has already got black spots inside where the reflective coating has flaked off. Zipper on the new came with a kink so can’t open it the whole way on one side.

Buy cheap expect cheap I suppose. I’m looking to upgrade currently but I’m too frugal to justify the price of a gorilla tent.

Ac infinity makes some good tents. Vivo sun is ok if you want a decent tent. I’ve never had issues with my 2x4 vivo. Ac infinity makes some good products as well. I’ve never had any issues with their stuff. I have a 5x5, 6in exhaust and carbon filter from them. Lights are a tough one, I’ve always gone big with lights. I’ve had an roi-680 and have a 720 now. Expensive lights for LEDs, but well worth the money. I’ve been looking into ac infinity lights because they have a digital control board but I haven’t heard about how good they work. All depends on the budget you’re willing to spend on your set up on what you want

Can I ask why you are looking for a kit? You will likely get better stuff at better prices buying it separately.

AC Infinity or Lighthouse 2.0, I have both and I’d buy both again. AC has the best fabric but I think the zippers and light sealing along them on the Lighthouse is a little better.

You definitely need something with a multi-layer reflective fabric, not just coated. It’s got to be cloth outside, reflective middle, clear coat on the inside to protect the reflective. Pebbled is the best to avoid hotspots.

Agree on the zippers letting light in/out on the ac. That would be the only thing I would change about the ac tent line

My 2 cents? To get started, just get the cheapest tent you can find, BUT, keep in mind hanging weight capacity of the ceiling bars.

My 4x4 is a Giantex tent that i got for like 85 bucks, my 2x2 is a CoolGrows tent i got for like 55. Brand-wise, the CoolGrows tent is great, but IMO any tent is as good as the next. Just keep your lung room dark & light leaks at the zippers won’t matter at all.

Buy an extra tarp to cover it with and there you go

Check your local grow shop, surprisingly good deals sometimes. One of mine does scratch/dent/demo sales every now and then.

If you’re a buy once/cry once person you’ll be happy woth gorilla tents and HLG lights. If you’re a deal seeker the cheap stuff isn’t that bad - a guy on the autoflower forums pulled >4 lbs out of a 5x5 in a SOG with four $68$ amazon quantumn boards.

Tents are simple and LED’s have taken a huge leap. Just don’t spend all your ac/heater/humidifier/dehumidifier money on seeds! Common newbie mistake, I def fell for it, is buying a million seeds. You won’t have the time or space for a tenth of them homie.

My advise is to check kits from reputable brands, usually you have some quality there as well as some Warranty if needed and you most likely will get a starter kit with everything included for under 500
It is too much money but my friend, you will spend much more if you don’t know what you are doing, will get less, but will learn.
I build myselft a closet out of some wood bars and drywall plates, nothing fancy, costed me 30 bucks plus work but then one year later I see I will need to replace the winges on the door as well as the seals that are bent, is a easy and cheap fix but still a fix aggainst something that works.

Then You need to buy and assemble exaust system, ventilation, lights, the least.

So for all that you may get more or less the same for less 100 bucks if you check and select the cheaper by yourselft or you get a ready to go kit and are all set.

You will need a small amount of seed if you are planning on cloning but that is impossible with one tent, so don’t forget about soil, pots, eventually organic nutrients, ph meter and ph dds, maybe calmag if running on led(not necessarly needed).

That was my plan when I started and to be fair they have both served me well and more than paid themselves off.

The important thing is that they got me growing!

I built my own using panda film and pvc. The main things I’d look for in purchasing a tent, and this might just be how I like it, is
A) two in-flow air ports at the bottom
B)I like the exhaust on the side, not the top.
C) make sure you have the head clearance you need depending on the type of plants you want to grow.

I made me tent a little over 5 ft and I wish I made it taller!

Well not necessarily looking for an all in one kit, I would have loved it if there was an ace for that but im open to suggestion. I have nothing not even full knowledge of where to begin. I was told I can get seeds and grow up to 6 plants in ny so I wanted to take a swing at it. Im reading the growers Bible by Jorge Cervantes and this website was the first I decided to try from the suggestions. And from the car world to here I know forums are the way to go for experienced wisdom.
