White powdery mildew, what do I do?

How do the microscopic windborne spores know when to stop at 6 meters? Is it a force field?

Fungal spores are 2-40 micrometers. Pollen can travel further than 6m, and is 10-70 micrometers. Explain. Some fungal spores can travel thousands of km. Why does PM stop at 6m?

Yes, and please use big science worlds that are hard for us to understand.

Hey! Now you’re talking! Ok the thing is I don’t have to know if it’s a force field or not, it’s actually a real life observation from the farm. I did the test in the green house as well as the distance from greenhouse to greenhouse. I gave it the entire season to transfer from infected crops to uninfected crops unassisted over that distance outdoors and indoors.

I have a buddy here that can’t shake PM. I mean he has had it for years across three different locations. I know he’s a dirty gardener and that it followed his grow to his newest house.

He recently brought a plant over and I immediately dunked in in Sulphur and then sprayed it again.

Well, I walked into the quarantine a couple of days later and almost pissed my pants when I saw the whole plant covered with big round white spots. I cussed his name out loud and as I picked it up to throw it in the trash I realized they were just sulphur spots. LOL.

Ahhhh you suckers… every attack against me only makes me stronger. Every time you say it doesn’t work, someone performs the sulfur attack and knows at that point, what is real, and who is full of crap.

2TB micronized (wettable) sulfur per gallon of water. Microthiol Disperss is a preferred brand.

Can you see what the dark dot is? Is it like a hole or something? Or is that the base of a trichome?

If it was pm, shouldn’t he see hyphae under the scope? It’s pretty obvious when I look at mine.

oh it’s not powdery mildew, but I was just curious about the time frame involved.

So Joe, I got some Hi Yield wetable, dustable sulfur. I figgured it was soluble, but it’s not.

The powder precipitates, maybe some is dissolved? 4Tbs in a gallon jug of RO water. The water is yellow, but there’s a lot of precipitate at the bottom when it sits.

The sprayer I was planning to use is one of those quart hand squeezed things

Should I keep shaking the shit out of jug until nothing settles?

I think the stuff is 99% sulfur, 1% filler.

I think if I use it as is, it’ll clog up the sprayer. Could I filter it and still be following protocol?

I may have to spray in a tent with an inline exhaust fan. I reckon I’d turn it off while spraying, but how long to turn it back on and not fuck up the fan?

There’s alot of other stuff in the vicinity of the tent, will the sulfur fumes mess with it?

How close to bloom can I spray without having the buds be sulfury?

Don’t spray in bloom, and yah, the sulfur won’t dissolve. I just shake the sprayer as I spray it on. The sulfur won’t enter the air and fuck up your fan, that’ll be fine. As long as you don’t spray any sulfur on anything else, stuff around will be ok as well. It can smell a bit like sulfur, but it won’t hurt you. I mean as long as you don’t try and drink it. The water will evaporate and leave a film of sulfur behind that’s white.

Well, dang, what fun is that!

So, do I need to wash the weed when I harvest it?

I sort of screwed up my timing. I have one plant that I need to flip in a week. It’s almost too big for the space right now… but I have some punks I can hit.

Where the sulfur lands it’s pretty much permanent and you won’t be able to wash it off. Just don’t spray it in bloom and you’ll be fine, because you’re not smoking the leaves. I’m not sure if you can do the sprays 1 week apart, I never tested it.

Glad you said that, I use my trim for edibles and tinctures… I’ll be careful.

I’m not going to take a chance with the gal that’s ready. I have the UV-c light. It works really well, but does damage some lower leaves, and I have to keep doing it. I’m a lazy git!

If you don’t use Eagle 20, Avid or Imidacloprid, then you are categorized as ‘using hippie shit’ and it’s never gonna work lol. :speak_no_evil:

I chuckle when I purchase some organic sulfur. It always seems so incongruous!

Still using that damn hippie shit huh? Wait, is that a springtail? Quick get out the imidacloprid and kill them once and for all! :speak_no_evil:
