I used to have one I got from my dad. I broke it when I fell off the top of my car when I forgot it. I think I still have the pieces somewhere, I had planned to send it back to zippo to fix but haven’t.
Nice, I love my leather case as well, it’s always on my belt. The only issue I find is the snap wears away at the zippo. I really got to put a cover over it on the inside again.
I find most times the issue with zippo’s is the pin wears out and the top get’s very loose. That one I can fix myself. A plastic backed thumb tack is a great Zippo pin after you break off the plastic and cut the end off. Zippo’s lifetime warranty is an amazing thing though.
Mine took a hard hit and the hinge had a kink. I couldn’t for the life of me tweek it the right way for the lid to open and close properly so I sent it in. Took about 6 weeks but the whole hinge was replaced and the inside working parts, polished up and returned
Those are rad Maiden lighters, I will admit that I do love the smell of Zippo fuel
My uncle sold Zippo’s for many years and had hundreds last time I saw him, but the ones I had-- lame industrial-complex RCA and RAYTHEON lighters I got from my granddad – I got rid of many years ago because they didn’t work well on bongloads
They are definitely cool though.
No problem @DrEvill . I wear mine every day and it wore away the center of my John Wayne Hondo lighter. I got it when my last dog died as he was always at my heels and the pic just brought back memories. I did buy 2 though so still got one in it’s case. I found a piece of electrical tape works on the inside but moves in the hot temps. Still, better than nothing. This is what the Hondo lighter looks like.
These ones…

If a zippo goes underwater, will it light again when dry?..or would the water ruin the fluid storage cotton ball thing?
Those little ‘10k matches’ have that little o ring that keeps the wick and fluid sealed. Love those things. Want to buy a bulk pack and throw them in storage for shtf scenarios. Can always barter with fire.
I have ferro rods and magnesium shavings in all my kits so there is always some handy. I bought a bunch from a machine shop that works with the stuff. Hit it with a ferro rod and it burns at 3,100 °C (3,370 K; 5,610 °F). Fire is pretty easy even in wet conditions with that stuff.
I have a bunch too, I’ll dig em out for you guys eventually. I also have the hand warmers x4 and some cool memorabilia from when the zippo factory was right here in Niagara Falls, half or more of mine were made here as well. @DrEvill absolutely love the cypress one! And @DougDawson the glow in the dark and the cannabis ones are dope too!
I have a couple of the hand warmers as well, they are really cool. Recently Amazon sent me a few sets of electric ones to review which are really cool. 3 heat settings and decent battery life. They last around 10 hours.
