It sounds like they are damping off because the peat pellets are too wet. I’d go straight to soil with a couple after they crack in a glass of water with a tiny bit of hydrogen peroxide in it. Glad you got 1 going for the contest!

The picture is after I used a spray bottle on them, I got 2 different kind of peat pellets in there. The 2 are the new Rapid Rooter ones that I just got and I think are much better than the other 4. I put 2 germinated seeds in and bang 2 days later one is up and the other I would expect up in a day or 2. The other pucks someone gave me and I was trying them out, Rapid Rooters are much better I believe. I don’t think I will use them other ones again lesson learned.

There’s actually a trick to making them show also.
It can be done without the risk of re-veg most of the time.
