Front 2 are males. Back 2 are females. Sone breeders say choose male that flowers later. I like the bigger one that is much earlier. Nit sure the left male will live to seed, but I guess thats more genetics.
Smelling the female parts. Sweetish earthy, maybe earth sweat. Flowers are small so is the smell.

So day 49 for plant A

Look at the lowers as high as the main. The top buds on side branches are bigger than the main. Also got a nice secondary canopy. She is frosty af and ready to swell.

Here’s plant B st 42 days. I did nothing to her except top about 2 weeks to late lol.

Well this has been an absolute pleasure to run @THCeed and a big round of applause for organizing this friendly comp!
The WMBK has taken everything this amateur grower threw at it!
Plopped em in water Nov.1st. Switched to flower Dec 15th, finished Feb 8th.
Not sure what kind of categories we are going to judge, do I need to record anything?
Wet weight, dry weight, height?
Or my favorite, who cares we got weed!
Hope everyone had as much fun as I did in this, even if it didn’t go so well. At least you tried. :green_heart:
Ok, to the pic dump.
First is my solo.

The other 2 WMBK, the smell is hard to discribe for me, but pungent burn metal I think @420noob mentioned is pretty accurate Imo. Omg my apartment absolutely reaked all night into this morning :heart_eyes:

Thanks again THCeed, you reggae growchacho :seedling:
Can’t wait to see everyone’s final results, good luck all.

The lil’ bastard that wouldn’t quit. I gave up in December, but she didn’t. This is about 90 days of 12/12 at around 200 ppfd (it lived below the canopy of my flower tent). For the past 13 days, it’s been in total darkness as I’m shutting down and drying in the tent. I’m amazed it didn’t stretch more, and it’s even frosting up some. Fed/watered about 4 times total.

It’s a testament to the genetics, but I’m also wondering if I can maybe adopt this “method” to grow seed plants. Nice plants everyone else!

Like weight on branches hanging?
In the past I’ve only hung em hole for a week, then chop the buds off to finish in my drying rack.
No clue on a total wet weight.
I had a lill dab of hash from the scissors, WOWZA!
Edit: I did weigh the solo b4 and after chop.

Whatever that math is

So, ya took em at eight weeks?
I’m about on the same timeline. I’m mid week eight atm. Not seeing much cloudy, let alone amber.
I think the gals are trying to foxtail too, grr…
So pistol indicators are out, lol.

Was your solo foxtailing?

Yeah, not near the Amber I wanted.
Sorry I’m so new to growing I’m not sure what fox tailing is.
I do know the sugar leaves started to curl in, I guess would be the discription of what I noticed.
LMAO @420noob hey, as long as you had fun, that’s all that matters.
I had a blast. :+1:

Foxtails @LzBoy

Courtesy of my too intense and too hot light a few years back. Just the way it extends up. It’s a stress response to heat/light intensity.

Yeah, mostly light stress. Sometimes genetics also. Here’s a good article.

Thanks DST!
And here’s one of mine years ago that I let get to close to the lights when I switched to LED’s

Foxtailing is when it throws new pistils and growth which usually don’t want late in flower. Some strains do it naturally. In bad cases they can keep stacking calyxes but just “tails” looking cause stacked calyxes that rise up. I’ve had many times cause of light or heat stress usually in my case.
