XI'anPreservation83's not as intended outdoor grow

Just starting a little auto grow outside as the place I’m staying won’t allow full growing.

So seeds got left in soak and peroxide for 38 hours, and then got left in papertowel much too long.

So I had some growers mix and dug some soil from below some big trees and got 2 plants so far.

Got a couple humidity domes in place. Now I need to get more soil if I want more. Took me an hour to get 2 gallons to mix in this morning. Hard going.

Good luck bud(s)!

So the first 2 have been considered duds. One hasn’t changed since planting and the other is barely showing above the soil.

Now I have 2 more double grape and 2 fourm stomper mephisto autos put in soak in distilled and H2O2

I also picked up an extra bag of perlite, some sea compost, and picked up and sifted 8 gallons of native soil to be mixed with my peat based growers mix

4 fresh buckets made up. About 50% peat, 20% screened native soil, 15% perlite, 10% sea compost, and 5% vermiculite with trace amounts of dolomite lime.

2 days ago I dropped 1 double grape and 1 fourm stomper (very small seed).
Last night I dropped in the second seed of each strain. All day the buckets were sat on the front porch in the shade.
Went to move them to the yard at 6:50pm and 1 double grape is already showing its head above the soil.

2 of my domes had blown away when I looked back at the hill, so a few 4 inch nails and some shale later I’m hoping they will stay in place now.

So the rocks seemed to work. There was gale force winds last night and all the domes are still in place.

I really like your dome approach!

Really helps keep the soil moist where I need it. Right now I’m just watering around the seedlings with a spray bottle. Without the domes I would have to half drench the soil for them not to dry out on the hot sunny days

It seems to be working well!

So a little update! Just went to check out the plants. May have to move them tonight as we.are expecting 5 inches of rain tomorrow.

First picture.is the first double grape planted.
Next 2 pics are the forum stomper.

The final double grape is just about to break the surface.
We are at 94 hours now since the seeds first got wet. 70 hours for the second 2

With almost 5 inches of rain tomorrow, I decided it would be in the seedlings best interest if they could hide away until Wednesday.
Still away from prying eyes (in front of house by main road), but should still get some ambient light tomorrow if there is any

I decided it’s probably best if I remove the domes for the day, due to the low light conditions.

I now have each one associated with a number so that it’s easier to keep track of each separate plant.

To start we have Mephisto Double Grape #1:

Mephisto Forum Stomper #1:

Forum Stomper #2:

and finally, Double Grape #2:

And just to give a little more of an idea on conditions, here is our weather:

The rain has passed and the plants have been moved from their shelter back up on the hill behind the fence again.

This is the 3rd day since the babies have awoken to the natural light.

Going to have to start a bucket full of hand cut tall grass and a bubbler to get their first organic feeding ready for about Saturday.

Got it all set up to sit in the sun for 3 days, strain and use as a concentrate.
Anyone happen to know how potent that may be? This is a lot of firsts, first autos outdoors, first time outdoors not growing in the ground, and first time using fermented tea on plants not in the ground.

My watering method for young autos I call the donut method. It’s hard to tell in the picture because right around the seedlings is damp, but the ring just outside that got quite a bit of water.
Trying to encourage the roots to have to go looking for water.

And can’t forget fourm stomper 1:

So yesterday I didn’t make the update. I took 1L of distilled and added around 250ml of grass ferment to be used for the first feeding.

A little update on how the 4 auto flowers are coming along after their first slight grass feeding.

Up close in order is double grape #1 and #2, then fourm stomper #1, and #2

It’s been a few days since my last update, but I never forgot to capture images that I could still upload easier.

This first picture is from 5pm Sunday. The 1.5L I gave them the night before barely lasted through the day.

Sunday night I made sure to give them at least 1L each so they wouldn’t dry out as much.

Very little change from Sunday night to Monday night. I continued with 1L each. Here is the picture from after watering monday night.

Unless the day will be above 85, the 1L seems to be plenty for now.
Here is a picture of each plant yesterday evening

Chugging along pretty good I think for 9 days above soil.
I have since added vegetable scraps to my Grass ferment, which is almost 1 week old now. Starting to smell pretty funky.
At this point I’m still using 500ml ferment to 1.5L of water.

This is what they looked like wednesday evening during watering.

One thing I didn’t forsee is the plants lack of stabilizer roots due to being so still. Had 2 wanting to tip over from watering. So left the domes off last night, and it’s overcast and in the high 60s today so probably gona leave the domes off.

Here is a few pics from this morning after being exposed all night.
