4 Way Genetics planning

I have the some NL5 on its way, in state so it should be soon. One of those things where “you don’t look a gift horse in the mouth” as far as digging for the provenance and leave it with “it’s been passed to friends for years”.

That’s inner circle shit right there! Good score!

The OG stars are aligning for a legendary Northern Lights Blow out! We can coordinate any size of pheno hunt you can imagine, why?

Because we have Multipass!

multi-pass

Yeah, Ok, that might be construed as a setup… :face_with_monocle:
I blame it on the sativa… " bad sativa… bad " :seedling:

But really, we can scale laterally (I’m thinking of the sliding firearm racks in The Matrix) in the sense scaling tens of growers. Yeah, I know, I’ve ‘banged on’ about this before.

What sativa would you cross with NL#5?
Maybe South or Central American… but I’m wondering about Golden Tiger ( not the sativa variant) but it might trigger herms… or maybe African…

My options at the moment would be Vietnam Black, Acapulco Gold, Durban Poison, Panama Red.
Friend that gifted me the Black Pearl collection was supposed to send GT seeds as soon as they finished. Have not been able to get in contact with him though for over a month. My problem is I have not smoked many of these strains in decades and if I have most has been generically grown over dry and equally bland taste and buzz from a dispensary. That’s why I am having fun growing so many strains right now. Want to taste and stock up on what I like and hold some special mothers/ fathers if I run into any.

When the dispensaries opened here I was like ‘a pig in a new mud puddle’ until I realized the same. I still haven’t figured out how or why they would grow weed like that.

If I wasnt all tied up with all my fuckery, I would totally offer space and time for this.
Next time, we dance!!!

I know what you mean, life is weird.
Yesterday I was checking on some auto beans to see if they are popping, and it was raining seeds inside my tent.
I’m thinking, “OK, that’s the seeded CBD plants I grew for my wife”. Next are the autos - because I promised George at vault a grow log, after that, are some WW and GG for my kids… Then… then I can play!
The longer I’m on OG and hanging with you folks the more my goals are changing…

I think they store at 15 RU so it won’t mold. I like dense like styrofoam not like lava rocks.

$$$$$$$$$$$…20 something or other.

Did it for 6 years, Feed it to the point it won’t take it, get it done, run it through a wet trimmer (bud car wash), accelerate the cure time as much as possible, get it out the door and do it again next month.

Just like art, and cars, to me, when they became about money they were not fun anymore.

Hey got your car this weekend to go with the others in the Barn.

What a fantastic plate!

Pontiac had great styling then. The Charger was good but looked ‘slab sided’ beside a Pontiac.
Did you put that 12 bolt rear end in? A 462 with that drivetrain? Hilariously insane!
It is the perfect time of year to be driving it too!

ENJOY!!

I’m the same way, when it gets to be about the money it becomes ‘a job’ not about personal enjoyment.

Here’s mine …plate reads NADAGTO
If I get another it will be a 69’ goat or Firebird.
Have the 12 bolt in getting shortened for slicks and a 3:55 Posi put in.

I think this is a great idea… I do have a proposal for something like a collectively done G13HP88 project. Should be plenty of with the seed about, I was going to run those since I have 2 packs One from Bare and one from SCJedi. OTOH just dropped some other things. Would have to plan it ahead.

I like hitting a branch of each with a smelly male …and testing them all …but I’m a glutton that way :frowning: It is all about your objective in the end though. Would the Mom be NL #5 or the male?

Just a dream …

my dream was the Cobra Jet with the 429

Good thinking!
G13HP88 is the backbone of a lot of excellent crosses. Having a supply of stable beans could fuel a number of projects down the road.
How stable are G13H88 beans? (Do they need more work?)

I wouldnt wrry about having a laid out specific step by step plan so much.

More so just make sure you document all crosses and breeding etc as much as possible.

Group Project #1
Universal Score Card (Wiki)

So I was thinking, we need some sort of ‘universal score card’ for evaluating cannabis plants.

We need to know where we are (so to speak) and which direction we want to go.

This ‘score card’ could serve as data collection template for a distributed network of growers - among other things. Groups could decide what characteristics to pursue in projects etc.

The usual 0 to 4 ratings and 0 to 100% as well as required.

Ultimately such systems are subjective but so long as we are talking the same data set parameters… so what?

I see this as an ongoing project to develop so lets throw down some points to measure …

(stolen from Seed finder)

  • Inside finish time

  • Outside finish time

  • Mold Resistance

  • Yield

  • Flower Section measured in plus/minus (-…0…+)

  • Variation

  • Ease of Growth

  • Feed level

  • Stretch

  • Plant Structure

  • Sativa/Indica

  • smell

  • potency

  • color

This list needs to be expanded with more items, categorized and short definitions added.

So think of this Wiki as a ‘Group white board’ and edit as you see fit.

Being an old fart, I tend to think in terms of spread sheets but I know the younger folks will be thinking in terms of apps and other clever shit.

Just a thought…some highly prized characteristics are going to be both pluses and minuses. For instance smell, potency and color. In some or most cases the more the better …but not all. So your score card will need to be adjustable for the project target with that in mind.
