One of the Joplin - 5 days in - inflated a football, the next day 2 more coming on…

Both were right on track for this stage, Big Blue hasn’t shown yet and take it as a good sign.

The main pair are starting to show hairs, but 5 days into bloom not much.
They’ve filled out and are getting a bit better color now that they’ve been fed.

In a couple of days when the culled plant’s container drys out a while, want to check on
the root structure including the cat grass. There were roots out the bottom of the tub but
not all of them belonged to the plant since it was only in there about 2 weeks.

Janis just needed an extra day to show, ending up at an acceptable height.

The first set of single fan leaves were starting to yellow, so they got stripped off in the topping.
Took two clones from the second (single fan level) node and a double branch from top portion.

The end of week 1 for flower box, tops are in position to start setting buds. This week there isn’t
much too see… but next week the pistils should be popppin’

Am hoping that 6 inch zone the cilantro finds so enjoyable for flowering is the same level that my
plants will grow into and thrive.

After a few days without water, the male JJ stump didn’t show any signs of the
cat grass resprouting, so decided to explore the root zone.

The cat grass was definitely the majority of the roots shooting out the bottom.
When shaken they were all well intertwined across the zone. The block was
light and airy yet held together. Spongy texture like squeezing a fresh cake that
crumbles with the fingers easily. It helps out at transplant time,

Replacing the tubs with these baskets (lined with barrier cloth in future) that will let me
put two plants per container, yet keep the same size I’ve been using in the past (approx).

One of the Tahoe (2 days ahead) is shooting up at 2 weeks and both moving along nicely.
The Janis has been topped and now training tie down for next 3 weeks. Clones haven’t shown
any roots yet, but when they do a pair go into purple prepared container.

Janis has had a week to relax and recover with tips pointing up.

The first clone dropped roots in 7 days, and got transplanted to the cilantro tub.
A second showed roots the following day, it and the third went into the purple double.

The main box is at week 2 of flower and budlets forming well.

The Tahoe pair get put on flower cycle this weekend until they show sex and get the same
treatment that Janis got, until the box is ready to get filled to capacity in staggered cycle.

The main flower pair yellowing a bit. That’s the Root Organic…
after about 3 to 4 weeks it needs a bit of help. Added an inch or two of soil
(with amendments) on tops of containers, if cover crop grows or not.

Just mounded it up toward the stem and left it to dry 24 hours and will water it tonight
when the containers would normally get a drink. The smaller one got buried almost to
the split, will dig it out a bit as don’t want it directly on the stem.

The soil levels will settle a bit as they are watered.

The Janis reached the ends and so the ends got topped. Tied down and mostly up from here.

The clones should be recovering, but can’t really tell. They aren’t yellowing (good).

Got a bit too rough with the topper clone. Was spreading one of it’s arms down and it just
snapped right off… stuck it into the soil, but not important if it survives there.

I found it ran out of gas way to soon too. Did not have same issues with Roots 707, but I have switched to a home made recipe and am happy with that change.

Watching for good things.

The Tahoe pair still haven’t shown anything this week except a warning…
The two plants are 2 days apart breaking ground and average their days
so one is behind a day and one ahead a day in calendar (internal logic).
You can sure tell they are siblings…

The taller of the pair is higher at this stage than any others this season.
Similar to many of the plants last season, in the past it’s an indication of
a strain that likes to test the limits of cabinet gardens.

The flower box is at week 3 since flip and starting to have an aroma when
the doors open. They got a leaf strip and semi-lollypop treatment.

They have only had the one watering on the new top dressing, should help in
the next couple weeks to fatten up.

Leaves seem droopy.

Any thoughts?

On the Tall Tahoe? It was that way when I opened box near end of day cycle.
They are all still drying out from a BTI soaking a few days ago.
Pictures taken about 30 minutes before lights out so it could be timing.

The main flower box is chugging along, at week 4 they are starting
to fatten up. Nothing to get excited about so far. Have been bottom
feeding them and the roots, not saying who’s roots, are breaking off
in the tray below the basket as they air prune.

Not much of the cover crop survived the top dress, but the cilantro that did has
started taking off from in the influx of nutes. Janis is getting acclimated to the
box this week and will get flipped next week.

The clones from Janis doing nicely, the container isn’t proper sized to play nice
with saucers and tubs for watering. Concept is good, execution meh…

5H Club • Tahoe Two Foot Longs

The Tahoe pair finally showed their gender and both were female.
Th01 - This was the faster plant, above soil and 2 days ahead.

Th02 - finished up an inch shorter and days behind the other in development.
Side by side they look similar and could see things coming on in the second
plant the first showed earlier like the yellowing leaves.

The first single blade node went yellow and worked up the plant to the next node.
Have a feeling these are heavy feeders, as they’ve had nothing but water. Most
last a bit longer in this size with this soil.

Second Tahoe hasn’t gotten a basket yet but Janis has got to open up some space soon.
Ended up with a six pack of Tahoe clones (not counted before they root).
Might have to ditch the saucers for a single tray to pack more baskets into flower area.

After a month of veg training Janis is getting ready to be flipped.
Trimmed out to the growth tips and spread, tied flat, no under bush this time.

The clone duo are established and were topped

They haven’t broken the alternating fans yet and want them to get bushy.
Another couple of weeks veg and transplant to flower size containers.
These two were from Node2 and one was always a bit larger and running them side by side.

The Cinderella clone (taken from stem above topped portion of original cut closer to sexed area)
Just been hanging out doing it’s own thing (once I stopped messing with it).

Of the two broken branches stuck in soil, one still shows a bit of green but is a long shot.

The Cilantro has decided to take off again (with more food around) and continues to flower every chance it gets.

Not sure what the plans are for this clone… possible mother, outside gal, raffle prize…

Cross posting a bit with a few pictures of the new light demo unit.
Was going to go all new Gen2 EB strips but were out of stock when
it came time to order so snapped up some discontinued gen1 3500K
to match the 4000K strips already being used.

Last Summer/Fall when I built the current light I drilled two sets of panels
one for 2 strips and another set with 3 strips per 4x24 panel.

The demo panel has a meanwell driver for 3 or 4 strips at 1050mA to test
various substrates for heat transfer/retention. The panels are the same
thickness as the angle framing material, 1/8th inch if I remember right…

BUT the first thing was to install one into the veg area and add
some spectrum and light. What I found was there aren’t any more
of the LDD-700 chips not in use so put it on a LDD-1000.
Monitoring the temps but still don’t think there’s an issue…

I did move all the plants down about 3 inches from previous levels.
If you look closely you can see the Tahoe pair bent upward so hard.
Can you tell which strip is not like the others? (Spoiler: center)
The standoffs made adding a strip (or removing) easier without
having to take the whole fixture down. Just assume the auto
mechanic position, flat on your back with a head lamp and a
tool in each hand.

Nice clean build on that light.

Plants look very happy.

Great to see.

Updated the OHN mixture with a fourth ingredient. So we have:
Garlic - Ginger - Cinnamon - Cannabis root

When I harvested last Fall took the roots and stems from 2 plants and the main stems from
4 previously harvested that were sitting around. The roots were a lot cleaner than I thought
they would be, since they were only shaken when dry to remove dirt and not washed…

The small blue vial is the working OHN mixture of the 4 solutions. Since it’s 30ml takes 7ml each.

Marigolds - have to watch them or they’ll take over…

First thing involved the veg area, but second on the agenda was to swap
out a pair of the 4000K strips in bloom fixture. The standoffs make it easier
to change strips, but it’s 1000% easier if you REMOVE THE FIXTURE and
put it on a solid surface

After building and running the new panel for an few hours to test the temps,
and finding them within acceptable range, said WTF let’s really test it…

Since the front panel is empty (except standoffs) grabbed the velcro training tape
and piggybacked it on. Was secure enough, and rigid enough, to hang from ends.

They added a level of brightness not seen so far. The back 4 strips are 700mA and
the front 3 on the new driver at 1050mA. Left them running over the next 10 hours
of the cycle.

It raised the temps a little, but easily compensated with exhaust increase.
The cord running out the front (arrow) wasn’t ideal so removed before dark time.
