Thanks @OhNo555 !

It is already on a thick carpet mat. Even so it has been chilly in the basement in general, although the weather man assures us that is going to change this week!

Thank you for growing and creating this journal, @Vomact !

May your plants show great vigor and do really well outdoors, wishing you a very potent and soothing, healing harvest!

A brief update of my geezers grow for all you fine folks. I had to dispense with the group photos as things are starting to get cramped in the tent. As you may have noticed, I left out the nascent stages of the girls’ development as personnally I can’t really get excited by photos of seedlings. The PuTang and GelatoOG are at week 7-8, the Hyp3rids No.2 is week 3-4 and the Archive Diesel\Dosi is at the begining of week 3.

I have been doing a bit of LST, with varying degrees of sucess, as all these girls have REALLY short internode spacings

First up, PuTang:

Putang #1. Let this girl be a cautionary tale for all those trying to train a compact strumpet. To my dismay (at the time) this sheila was inadvertently truncated at the second internode i.e. I got a bit too vigorous and snapped her accidentally. She took it like a champ however, pulled up her big girl britches and started forming an astonishing number of new tops. She may be scary when I go to flip them.

PuTang #2. This is the ‘stumpy’ pheno but she has put on little weight since we last saw her.

PuTang #3. Looking Good.

Next up the Gelato OG

Gelato OG #1. Looking good but her primary water leaves are HUGE and I have been really tempted to remove them but part of me says “don’t remove the solar panels” as they are going outside.

Gelato OG #2. Ditto for this girl. Looking O.K. but those big leaves vex me.

Gelato OG #3. This wee lass is the runt of the litter. Hoping she will put on a little weight before we flip.

Hpy3rds No.2. This one I am really excited about! It has come roaring out of the gate. It is very vigorous and I am hoping for a girl but if it’s a male I may shoot some powder.

and last but not least the Archive Expidition.

The Diesel x Dosi has made some strides this week but we are hoping she will start to put some weight on. She was a late comer to the tent as she was slotted in when we had a case of Sudden Seedling Death Sydrome by one of the Gelato’s.

Insofar as the Funkified Funk is concerned it is actually quite sublte, although I got a mephitic blast of the PuTang\Pupil BO when I broke the top off of #1. I hope it is an indication of good things in the future.

The plan is to wait until I have a fifth internode and then the PuTang, the No.2 and the Diesel\Dosi are going to get topped. Still not sure about the Gelato. The weatherman says we are in for a warm spell ahead and I am going to take this opportunity to get them acclimated to the great outdoors.

Oh trust me it is @Gonzo
I really never thought I’d see the day that marijuana was “legal” but it’s here. It’s nice not having the cops run around with a stick stuck up their ass looking to bust you for it. Since it’s nothing but a minor fine now for being “outside” the laws, they don’t want anything to do with it. The funding for “eye in the sky” patrols was scrapped, so no more planes or copters. DTF funding cut 30% and Enforcement at your outside grow, non-existent out here in the country. Even in the city, the DTF might stop by if the neighbors complain enough. They’ve been to the neighbors house more than I care to remember, have seen my boxes in the swamp, not a word said. It’s really nice knowing that I can grow out back, not worry anymore about it, and have them leave me alone. Their only care now is “do you have any in your vehicle” when you get pulled over or “when was the last time you smoked” because that will still garner them money through their corrupt system.
I don’t answer any of their questions when I get pulled over anyhow.
Hell, when I Went to my 35 year class reunion last fall, the big joke was that “pot” is now legal, after being told all thru high school that I’d be doing jail time for marijuana. One of the “preppy” girls said “you look the same as the day we graduated, how do you do it???”
I said Liz, if you start smoking now, 30 years from now, you’ll look like you do today, and I’ll still look like I just graduated, LOL

It sure is a corrupt money collection/torture system & thats all it is. That conversation with Liz must have been incredibly satisfying

One of these days ill have an outdoor plant!

Hoping that day for you is sooner rather than later!

Keep keeping on!

A brief update on the innagural grow. The three Gelato OG sisters have made a sucessful transition to the great outdoors.

Clockwise from upper right:

Putang #2
Putang #3
Hyp3rids No.2
Putang #1
Archive Original Diesel x Do Si Dos (center)

The Putang are all at about week eight. The No.2 and the Diesel xDo Si Dos are about a week behind. Both the No.2 and the Diesel\Dosi made great strides this past week.

I have been doing a little LST and all the Putang have been topped.
I am going to give the No.2 and the Diesel\Dosi another week, or until they start the 5th internode, whichever comes first.

Then comes the flip.

A brief update on the grey beard tent grow. I must say that things are running smoothly for my first grow in decades, The Putang appear to be as advertized and the Archive Original Diesel x Do Si Do is going to rock but the star so far is the Hyp3rids No.2. Sweet, Sweet candy terps and she is one sticky girl.

This little lovely is the Archive Original Diesel X DoSiDo, Funk is slightly skunky with a hint of fruit and gas\fuel oil.

This lovley is the Hyp3rds No.2 Looking like a champ at this stage and is pure candy terps.

This is Putang #1. Buds ran a bit intially but are starting to fill in nicely over last two days. Funk is pure unadulterated dumpster tire fire with BO.

This is Putang #2 just starting to pack in caylx. Again Funk is total dumpster tire fire with BO

[Putang #3|666x500]

This is Putang #3, the stumpy pheno, She has rock solid nugs
Funk again Dumpster Tire fire with Bo.

And last but not least the Gelato OG sisters, taking advantage of the May Cape sunshine

The plan is to keep them in 3 gallons till the weather warms up a bit more and then up pot into 10 gal fabric.

A brief update on the grow. We are heading down the stretch and things are looking OK. Took these yesterday during leaf stripping. It is week 7-8.

Sitting in the middle is Putang #3, Ms. Stumpy and she is DONE. She was different from the other two from the get-go.

The nose is sweet, semi acrid pink grapefruit and sandalwood.

It’s quite delightful.

Putang #3

Putang #3

Putang # 2

She’s running a bit behind the others and she has put on a lot of weight in the last week. Again the nose is sweet, semi-acrid pink grapefruit and sandalwood.

I don’t know if you can tell but she is pretty greasy. She has a lot of purple trichomes.

Putang #1

She is a bit more sativa-ish and is a much darker purple (almost black) than her sisters.

Putang #1
(forgive the yellow but my phone automatically does this and I can’t figure out why)

Putang #1

Hyp3rids #2. She is really a stunner and is putting on serious weight. Going to give her another week of flush and see what happens. She smells to me much like the Putang, Candy sweet pink grapefruit.

Hyp3rds No.2 Falling over

Hyp3rids No.2 (Sorry for the Yellow)

Archive Original NYCD x Do Si Dos. (Diesel Dosi)

She has a couple weeks to go. She’s a small plant with rock hard buds. I figure another two weeks minimum.

Diesel Dosi

Diesel Dosi

Observations so far.

  1. If I had to do it again I would have vegged longer. I knew the Putang is a
small plant but i’m sure I could have gotten more out of it.
  2. I got three different phenos after popping three seeds, so If you want to
hunt it the variablity is there. I’m sure there is something in here for everybody.
  3. The Hyp3rids No.2 is a gem. I really can’t say a lot about it as I only grew
one, principally to see what she looked like. She is vigorous and she has
really packed it on the last week. I had to stake her lower branches as she’s falling over. I was surprised that her nose is very similar to Putang, however she is candy sweet and not as acrid as Putang.

Good morning my cannabis cousins. A brief update on the outcome of the grow.

In a ‘what the hell’ mood I decided to try fermenting and cob curing my buds. I used Tangwena’s Malawi style cob curing method and so far so good. I won’t go into the details here as there is plenty writen elsewhere on the topic.

(Link:Tangwena's Malawi-Style Cob Cure: Fermented Cannabis | 420 Magazine)

These have stewing for about 3 weeks and this is the first time I have unwrapped them in order to dry them and stop the fermentation process and prevent mold from establishing itself.

From left to right they are: Putang #1, Putang #2, Putang #3, Hyp3rids No.2 and the Archive NYCD x Do SI Dos.

They all have this sweet, fruity, fermenting beer kind of funk which is an indicator that things are progressing correctly. They have all darkened considerably. The PuTang #1 (far left) is a dark purple almost black color. I used basically the whole plant for these cobs. They each weighed in at about 1.3 to 1.5 oz. as Tangwena recommends. I sweated these at 105 F for 24 hours, then vac’d them. They are all around 7-8" long and an inch in diameter.

I’m drying them today then I will re-vac them and put them away for 60-90 days. The longer then better!
