Krewe of the Illuminated Trichome

Pick a flower on Earth and you move the farthest star.-Paul Dirac

Between a couple Greenpoint Seeds reverse auctions and birthday packs from the Mrs., it was a tough choice on selecting which cultivars to run.
The lineup: GMO Punch, Dotz, Bananimal, Grape Jelly, Oreoz S1, and Purple Fritter. Looking forward to some new terps to taste.

5/7 Popping seeds in paper towels.

5/9 Seeds transferred into Solos.

5/26 Just chillin’ prior to planting today.

Running Happy Frog in the left 3 pots and Buildasoil 3.0 in the others on the right.

5/31 Topped above the 4th node. Meanwhile, had a nice first flush on a tote; tray is 8" x 10".

6/4 It has been the wettest spring (feels more like SW Washington minus the upwards misty rain and Sasquatch howls), the soil gnats are booming outdoors and migrating inside. Spoted a Daring Jumping Spider on the prowl.

The only one in your lineup I’ve run is the GMO Punch from Greenpoint. It’s a breathtaker. My buddy could barely smoke it but I loved it! It definitely carries the GMO genes. I have several Greenpoint Purplepunch crosses (fems) and stardawg crosses (regs) if you ever want to trade. I also have some of the stardawg crosses in fem that I made. Good luck and happy growing!
P.S. My GMO Punch tripled in size in flower so be prepared.

Sounds like here in southern Colorado. It’s thundering and crackeling and raining right now. Carbon copy days for three weeks. Forecast for the future is the same. It’s normally around 13% RH here and hot this time of year. Nope. 60’s for the highs and 40’s for the lows. Rain every afternoon. Weird.

Up here in northern Colorado too. It rained almost all weekend. I put down grass seed and planted a garden two weeks ago and haven’t had to run any irrigation.

Thanks @NDNCHILD, what crosses have you made with Stardawg? Of the Greenpoint Seeds, I also have: Double Dip, Sugar Mint, Daiquiri,Texas Butter, Bubbles, Texas Toasted, Purple Cake (not sure why, but as I read the description, envisioned those terps would taking me back to my first taste of a King Cake in New Orleans of '81), and Purple Bubba Kush. I’m currently hunting for Dogshit and Rootbeer cultivars for a future grow. Good to hear that GMO Punch is a beauty.

@GMan and @lefthandseeds, I’m also in Colorado. I’ve been loving the rain and lightning shows, reminds me of the monsoon in Prescott, AZ. Gotta love el Nino. The 2" hail from a while back not so much…shreaded my hops to shit and dented my FJ to kingdom come.

So I have fem versions of : Tomahawk, Texas Chem, Dreamcatcher, California Cannon, Cowboy Kush, Texas butter and Orangeblossom Special. I just harvested and dried some Texas Butter. It’s nice. It did smell of ripe bananas in the beginning of flower. Then shifted to more of a banana candy. The smoke is fairly mellow and smooth. And the effects are also mellow and relaxing. The only one I have I don’t recommend is the Tomahawk. I just never get potent buds out of it. They’re huge and pretty just no strength. Out of this list I think Cowboy Kush is my favorite. Grows well, produces decent and the smoke is fantastic! Very gassy terps bite you on the inhale with a decently strong but pleasant high. I also just harvested the Dreamcatcher. Very nice! Supposed to be a BlueDream x Stardawg cross. Some how I seem to have grown a very even cross of the two. Mostly tastes like stardawg but the effects are closer to bluedream with the euphoria and giddiness tamed slightly by the stardawg. I’ll see if I can figure uploading pics of the Tx butter and Dreamcatcher I just harvested.

Oh damn you got clobbered by hail. We’ve had a number of hail storms too, but a little further east I heard talk of feet of hail.

We have a ton of mosquitoes now because of all the moisture. Although, I feel good about our chances of not having to deal with many fires this summer.

Looking good. I have a Space Berry(Starfighter F2 x Sour Strawberry) which oozes strawberry fuel that I’d like to cross one day…

That does sound nice. Which way are you thinking of going with her?

Yep, clobbered. Our house was vibrating from the hail. It was a slow moving cell shooting pink and purple lightning like crazy. A beautiful event to behold.

I grew a Super Starfruit (Starfire Chem x Early Orange) on my last run. It had a starfruit smell with Durian notes and that “Cool Ranch” taste on the exhale. It’s my go to for musculoskeletal pain and spasms. So far, I’d cross that with Space Berry.

Very nice! Look forward to seeing the journey if you take that leap.

That super star fruit sounds like it might be good for MS.

Time to press the rosin! San Fermodo BX (San Fermodo #13 x FreeWorld Chem). She’s matured into bouquet of funky, gasy, Ylang Ylang (10/22 harvest).
Lovingly pressed in 120 micron bags at 190F. Has a consistency of jellied honey.

Very nice! Did it come out orange like that or does the picture change color any? Also what size are your plates? I just broke out my press after a couple year pause in pressing. I have little 3x5 plates. I haven’t tried squishing multiple bags at once. Now I want to!

Thanks. Yes, it is that vivid. My plates are 4" x 6". When using 120 micron, 2+ minute ramp up to a target pressure of 800-1000 psi. Used pucks get turned into all sorts of delectables: beer, jelly babies, deodorant, tinctures, chapstick, and granola. I’ve been loving my Nug Smasher XP (lifetime warranty and buyback program). Barrel tech is my favorite. Fill the bags to the brim, press and Shipoopi! What micron(s) are you using?

I may have to learn the deodorant recipe. That sounds cool. I just have a little 4ton manual Dabpress 3x5’s. I also bottle tech. I may try two bags if you get three. I also tend to run 120’s on flower. I find they work well on fresh sticky icky! Beautiful job man! I love that color! Looks like you squished orange gummies!
