it’s only available to canadian bank account holders, are you from up north here? if you have online banking it should already be there somewhere, either ‘e-mail money transfer’ or ‘interac e-transfer’ or something like that… but you’re right it definitely leaves a paper trail directly back to your personal bank account and i believe it would show the recipient your first + last name i.e. “MOR GWAR is sending you money”

strainly has their built in payment service. not sure if it’s escrow or not or what verifications needed to use it

Interac payment are widely used in Canada. Very safe. Even the government agencies take Interac payments. Nothing to worry about FYI

Do the interac payments work from US banks I wonder?
Either way you’ve got a great concept going and I look forward to using it.

We disabled the payment system due to some concerns from some members (legitimate). Our payment system was depositing funds directly into bank accounts which made some members uncomfortable about.

We tried, and based on feedback, decided to turn it off, so everybody feels better.

Payments are a real challenge in our industry, as y’all know…

We considered crypto currency payments but there are challenges as well:

  1. very few people actually use crypto currencies. Bitcoins have had high transaction fees lately, requiring members to use litecoins or other tokens, which are used by even fewer people
  2. the development costs to integrate a SAFE crypto payment system is quite high, considering the limited usage at the moment
  3. many banks have been blocking credit cards used to buy crypto currencies on exchanges (such as Coinbase, to mention the most widely used), so this would have created issues for our members.

Still exploring options…

Thanks for your understanding

Not sure Interac works outside of Canada. It’s unlikely to be frank.

Thanks for your feedback. Really appreciated.

Spread the word to people you trust.

We’re a small team with limited resources. We don’t buy followers on social media, we grow organically, through word of mouth, in order to attract good people and keep the platform safe.

Always trying to address members’ expectations. It’s an iterative process… gotta learn from these iterations and listen to feedback.

It turns that people want to be able to make payments with Credit Cards in most cases, and receive payments flawlessly, with no delay nor risks of getting their funds frozen, while remaining anonymous. After months of investigations, such a solution, combining all these requirements together, doesn’t exist… to our knowledge.

However imperfect this is, we have to leave it to our members to decide what transaction solution they feel most comfortable using…

Not giving up and still in investigation mode… :fist:

multi-sig crypto transactions would pevent you having to build out an escrow system, but most people don’t want the hassle of acquiring and dealing with cryptos. bitcoin cash has much lower tx fees and monero is much more secure for anonymity

multi sig being when 2 of 3 people agree the transaction completes. so seller/receiver or in case of dispute seller/market or receiver/market.

We explored that. But the reality is 5% of our users would use crypto currencies… and out of these 5%, the majority would stick to BTC…
Most people have no clue what monero and zcash is… The intermediary steps needed to acquire such cryptos and convert them back to fiat currencies turns off most people…

We accept several cryptos for our visibility features, and so far a handful of our members used the features, while many said they would gladly use the feature if we take CC payments…

Additionally, an increasing number of financial institutions now block credit cards used to acquire cryptos… which ads risks and frictions for users…

Developing such a multi-sig transaction system that is SAFE (another criterion usually overlooked by many people) is costly and the benefit is far from obvious (due to above reasons).
In theory, it’s the best approach (and the one we wanted to implement), but in practice it doesn’t really solve the problem on a large enough scale…

Hopefully, this option will be more practical toward the end of 2018…

FYI, according to a survey we conducted in 2017, most respondents point PayPal as their preferred payment system, while we all know that the risk of having your funds frozen is one of the highest with this processing route.

Thanks for your input !!
