A Question For All You Bongsters

Is today the first time you have smoked through your unit without that piece? :raised_hands: I have had to do that multiple times when I didn’t have a spare :flushed: :upside_down_face: :joy:

I want to see your bong

Rinse it before using it, that will remove any glass particles. Five minute epoxy will have you back in business in a few hours.

Thank you, @Tejas!

I have thought about that. I’m worried about the heat. That part, right where the break is, is one of the hottest places, I think. My concern is about the heat negatively affecting the epoxy.

I’m going to order 2 of these

I have a 45 degree adapter somewhere that I’ll try. If it keeps the filter closer to the bong, I’ll use it. If not, back into storage it goes.

Edit: Ordered

Wait a second you guys don’t keep spares??

blush Well, in this particular case nope, I don’t. blush

But note that I said I’m going to order two. I’ll be doing that as soon as I finish this post! I love these filters! Besides keeping the rest of the bong cleaner, the flower is more flavorful and I cough less. Hack hack. Ordering now…

We’re men. We never think we’re going to break anything.

Oh, for sure! Nowadays I have multiple spares and still use my broken bits if they are ever necessary  But I am pretty old and have a long long history of broken parts and McGuyver’d pieces :joy::raised_hands:
Just last week I had one bowl break while being cleaned (scraped too hard) and it’s first replacement broke when I was dremeling its hole out because it’s hole was too hard for me to snap a load through :joy: I need to make a run to Haight Street and pick up five or ten new replacements for safe keeping but I’m too tired from smoking all day to drive 20 minutes after a long day of work so… I am desperately low on replacements with just one or two RN

That’s right, I forgot that you used a carbon filter. Coolness! Thanks for the link

Yea, probably not going to work if it is near the heat. Off gassing and failure would be the concern.

Sorry it’s been so long. No excuse on my part.

I have a couple of bongs. This is the one I’ve been sucking on lately. No heady glass. What you don’t see is the carbon filter. I haven’t received it yet, although it may be at the box. I’ll go check tomorrow.

My bong has survived 5 years which means I will accidentally break it tomorrow.

I got the filter today, so pretty quick shipping. I also got a bowl with a “built in” screen. I expect I’ll be putting a brass screen in it. I also bought a big bag of charcoal.

The bowl is loaded and ready to go in this photo!
