AC Infinity Cloudline fans, Free Controller 67 Upgrade
I’m not sure where this should be posted, but it’s good news for owners of these fans.
The AC Infinity Cloudline fans are high end ventilation gear for the grow room. If you have one you know what I’m talking about, and if not you may want to check them out. A programmable exhaust fan is an essential component for controlling heat and humidity.
The bad news is that AC Infinity botched the release of their new fan controller, “Controller 67” and lots of buyers felt cheated when their fan arrived with the old control unit. The good news is that the company is now quietly offering a free upgrade if you complain.
So if you purchased your fan in the last 5-6 months you are probably eligible for an upgrade to controller 67. You’ll have to ask for it by visiting their website and following the “Support” tab to “Contact us.” If you purchase longer than 5 months ago you should have a good sob story to offer, but they know their marketing was confusing and seem amenable to making it right. My upgrade is in the mail, YMMV.
If they turn you down, it still might be worth considering the upgrade. For $50 you get a bunch of new functionality and a Bluetooth App so you can monitor and control the fan remotely.
@OGTreeSlayer If there are two wires coming out of your fan (power & Temp/hum probe) they say you can use the new controller. Also, if you look at the little black box on your fan it should have a label with the model. If it says Cloudline & “T” series, you’re good to go.
They’ve been selling the T series with the old controller for a long time, so unless you bought your fan since last summer I’m guessing you do not have Controller 67.
Check the pic & info in @anon81143130 post linked above and compare with yours.
I can’t find anything showing me how to distinguish the new from the old. I bought mine like a month ago. I’ll look at the fan and look in the manual when I get home.
The pic that @corgitron posted is from the bluetooth APP, not the physical 67 control box. If you just bought your fan it will almost certainly have the new controller. Be Happy bout that!
Thanks for the heads up, they offered this on my order from August without any hassle at all.
Don’t bother chatting with support on their website though, they will just tell you to email them.
@CADMAN Heh, I actually stumbled onto it by accident. I wrote them to bitch about the absence of a link on their website for the User’s Guide. So, while we were griping I mentioned I was bummed that my new T-8 fan didn’t come with the new controller 67 and he said their current policy was that if you bought it five months ago or less they were offering a simple exchange.
I got the impression that plenty of customers were unhappy about this so they decided to make it right.
