I recently made a purchase with him too [+ Snowhighs reproduction of Hoa Bac Silverleaf… which is already wet :grimacing:]

I pulled seeds at 18 weeks from a Columbian Gold mom. She runs 20 to 24 weeks. They were all 3 viable and sprouts are growing well. The mom was pollinated early in flower.

If you plan to smoke any of the bud after removing the seeds, then you want it to run much longer.

That’s a good guess. 4- 6 weeks has been about right for most strains, for me at least, but Goroka Highland and Thai may have taken longer. I’m wishing I paid attention, but I think the 18 and 21 week plants did take longer. Oaxaca seeds have ripened in 3 or 4 weeks. From nothing to black seed in that time. They are small seeds, which may factor into the equation too.
Sure seems that large seed equatorials would take longer. Everything else does with them. They’re like an old lady. No getting them to do anything fast LOL

Oooh. Hoa Bac. Just got some seeds from a friend and its been difficult keeping them dry😁. It would be irresponsible for me to germinate them right now, so I am very happy I get to live through you for the moment. I am really really looking forward to this run.
Still remember Reeferman’s description of the buds as " frosted firecrackers" :boom::boom:POW!

Does allowing your girls to seed affect the potency? I’ve heard vague and conflicting answers.

I really don’t know to be honest. I tend to think they’d be less potent seeded but also heard seeded plants produce more resin to protect the seeds. Maybe the cannabinoid profile changes…seeds vs. none.
Thai stick aka Squirrel Tail can still be found today.

Ive read several different opinions on this as well.
Ive read females produce more resin and trichs when unseeded because they desire to pass on the genetics as everything does. Sk in order to increase her chances she will start producing resin and trichs in hopes she will increase her chances and catch any small stray pollen floating around.
I dont know if that would increase THC levels thou. Maybe more trichs in a smaller area so it would be “more potent” needing less to get you where you want to be, but I think the actual level of any given gland is genetics.
Also read a study that up to 48 hours of darkness before harvest will increase resin and trichs. Any longer had no better effect. But I thini 48 hours increased some plants by almost 30% !
Just posting my 2 ¢ from reading a bunch of breeding books, high times, and the web over the years. Im not an expert by any means.

Okay, I think I’ve dragged this out long enough. My friend and I are tired of shucking by hand… but we both agree that we probably have more than enough to start giving em away.

So here’s the deal:

  • US residents only (until I do a practice-run shipping up north/south)

  • NO payment necessary

  • Also, no tracking… Stamped envelopes this time (support your local post office lol)

  • Packs are 15-20 beans each

  • multiple packs are cool (don’t get greedy pls)

  • put AG & your OG name in subject area of message so I can keep this shit organized.

I may be slow to respond to messages during the day, but don’t fret

A million babies ain’t it. Seeds falling everywheres. My Acapulco that seeded itself had prob 500 seeds on it. Not counting all the ones just fell out on floor
