Your plants are totally awesome. How do you manage going to November? Do you cover it when we get frost/ snow  I bow to your growing skills. My sister has a hoop house for growing her fruits/vegies. Your out in the open.

My growing outside has me cover with plastic, I use bamboo hoops to hold the plastic helps keep them out for scattered frost and otherwise cold nights, freeze warnings means chop em down. I was on the lake with my son 5am Sunday morning it was 41 F we were going 42 miles an hour, it reminded me of what eventually comes, I was happy to get to our fishing area and stop the windchill. Of note, we are in drought, it has been straight sun and hot all summer, the outdoor plants in the ground are fantastic. This is in Northeast US

Greetings AG Aficionados,

As fourteen weeks of 12/12 indoor pampering winds to a close, my tall gal is finally showing signs of maturation.

The pistils are 80%(?) brown and the calyxes are swelling. Sugary pores have appeared and, perhaps, an unexpected surprise: Seeds???

She makes it really hard to get good closeup pics, any puff of air currents wiggles her spindles, but I thought you all might enjoy a peek.

Is this what I think it is?

Cheers,
-Grouchy

i find that when i give my plants lots of coconut water it help induce flowering sooner outdoors. and i need my plants to start flowering as early as possible up here. right now still 14hrs sunlight, but biggest problem is the fall dampness. i have found this product work the best.

i have 18 plants in 30 gal’s and this was enough to trigger them all after 2-3 apps per wk for 3 wks.

beautiful plant! cheering she gets across the finish line for you! the shelter is a good idea will help get you another month or more grow from it. .

Wow, I had never heard of that! Very cool. How did you learn about this @mainerJ ?

just thru personal experience, i have notice it helped move the plants towards or into flowering a couple or few weeks ahead of plants i did not use it on. i would have to look up the info again to ensure i am correct but the coconut water does a lot for the plant. provides food, helps root development which happens with flowering, provides magnesium and potassium, all kinds of stuff good for the plant and flowering. i also think it helps the microbes too. been a while since i was learning/reading about the use of coconut water for plants, but i have seen for myself and know it works wonders. make sure not confuse it with coconut milk its not the same thing. you want the coconut water that is why i showed the link above. google coconut water for plants and check it out! enjoy your grow!

Acapulco Gold Repro: Preliminary Smoke Test
I want to preface this by confessing that a crowded lineup for my grow room is forcing my hand towards harvesting my AGold plant earlier than I’d like. So I may be reporting on immature bud!

I’ve discussed and pictured this plant above, and I have no idea how it would mature if I could keep it going, but alas, I cannot. Time and Tide (and rooted-clones) wait for no man.

Besides we’re now heading into the seventeenth week since 12/12 flower and honestly, I’m not sure if she’s done growing, but I am done growing her! I need my Room back.

As a result, I am going to give the tall Gal a chop in the next few days and I reckoned it was time to try a sample, even if it was quick dried and uncured. So that’s what I did and that’s what I’m reporting.

Keeping that in mind, I nipped two small lower buds and let them dry naturally overnight. Then I hung them in front of a dehumidifier for a few hours until they were passably dry to the touch.

I smoked one of them down to white ash in my Peace Pipe earlier. Then a few hours later I put the other one in my dry flower Vape and cranked the temp up to 390 F. About five or six good hits from each bud.

First and most importantly, it definitely has some potency! My fear that I’m harvesting way too early is put to rest, she has some serious chems onboard and they come on smooth and fast. I’m going to call it cerebral rather than racy. As I’m typing this it’s as though my body isn’t even there, isn’t “relevant.” Nice, old school head trip.

I’m lousy on taste and smell in general, and this was young bud, poorly dried, but, the smoke wasn’t harsh, no coughing. It had a high note taste I’d call minty maybe? Wasn’t a good toke, but wasn’t bad either. Should improve significantly with a proper cure.

The buds are unnervingly strange looking to me, way more calyx structure than the plants I’m used to. Notably, the tiniest trichomes I’ve ever seen, like little beads of sweat everywhere. If you get a side view they have tiny little stalks and hardly any cystoliths anywhere. (@JoeCrowe?)You can see a few trichs turning amber if you look hard. The pics below are fairly high res so if you open them you can zoom in.

There you have it, a first impression from maybe the first AG Repo out the door. As of Wed afternoon I haven’t harvested yet. I’ll post a shot once she’s cut.

sorry to barge in uninvited to the conversation, but i use fresh coconut water in hydro (i know the common thing is to use in organic) to provide cytokines and in general some micronutrients complementation in veg. i stop in flower.

there are various studies to back this up, this is one. http://www.apjmr.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/APJMR-2019-7.2.001.pdf

cytokines are used for inmune system, root maint, short node space, plant growth, cell division, and influences consumption of K and P, among other stuff check the paper it has a list of benefits.
