Speaking of which, I had a guy message me on IG a few weeks back inquiring about flower-time. At first I thought he was asking because he hoped for something FAST (I was wrong)… and felt back when I told him that they’re probably going to push up-to/into the 20wk range.
I’m glad to say that he was ecstatic
I’m glad you have patience too!
I kept this tall gal on 50% GH “Late Growth/Early Bloom” mix through the stretch and she seemed to “eat it up!” And what an amazing stretch, hosting an eight foot tall indoor plant is a new experience to me.
In any event I should have ramped down the ferts at the early signs of tip burn, but I mistook it for light burn at first. When the oldest lower leaves got hit hard in early flower I reverted to a pure spring water flush and that seems to have stabilized things.
Lost a bunch of lower leaves as she enters week nine of 12/12 lighting. Doesn’t seem related to the overfeeding.
As a result my revised suggestion is to be careful and responsive with the nutes for these AG plants, at least post stretch and into flower. I’d call her “fussy,” but isn’t that a characteristic of sativas?
Here’s a recent pic, if you open it and zoom you can see loads of virgin pistils looking for action!
You guys are making me want to pop more of the OP beans just to join the fun
I’m just a gear in the cog, you guys want to thank anybody, thank @WoodstockFarmacy and Bodhi ! I’m sure they would love to see what you find if you follow them on IG too
The lower branches are starting to show brown pistils. The upper buds are bulking up nicely but still all white hairs. I’m feeding 10% GH Late Flower mix.
The older leaves are still turning yellow and dropping, kinda like in @wny61’s pics above. I think our two plants are about the same age now, so maybe that’s a sign that harvest is on the horizon?
There’s another entire foot or so of apical bud above the photo jammed in between my ceiling joists. That cola is bigger than the ones pictured, impossible to get a good photo.
This is sort of ridiculous as an indoor plant, but fun to see her natural shape.
She is still chugging along…Just starting to get her legs back after months trapped in a 1gal plastic pot. Has been in the lights a few times and self FIMed and topped herself… about ready to get a few cuts and flip her to flower. A beautiful plant with intoxicating aromas… in a class of her own. One of the most unique in the garden this year.
That was Me as of May 11, now it is mid August and today I’m laughing at my own hubris! “Long Tall Sally” is a willowy giant and I was more than a little foolish to attempt to contain her in my grow room even with a tall ceiling!
I had to clean out the room today to prepare for the next grow so the Saintly Spouse and I rolled Sally outside for this trophy shot. I’m laying claim to the “Tallest Plant Grown in a Micro Octopot!”
She’s now over 14 weeks into 12/12 flowering and I’m finally seeing browning pistils and some sugar. The little buds look larfy, but each of those golf balls is hard as a rock.
All things considered, I am a little chastened. I’ve enjoyed growing the legendary Acapulco Gold, and owe a thanks to @lambchopedd for providing the opportunity, but I don’t think I’ll attempt it again indoors.
