Agroecological guerrilla, in search of the True Brazilian Sativa

here in my plants, the hemaphrodites that opened first, pollinated and these plants have ready seeds, but they are still developing new flowers … That’s what I saw here…

I suppose you could… . Seeds take 4 to 6 weeks to finish on average… if you pollinate when the clumps of flowers are about the size of a pinky nail, you’ll get about 10 seeds per bud after 4 to 6 weeks, so by end of week 10-14, depending on what you are growing, you’ll have mature seeds. You could then do another pollination like the first, or you could pollinate with another variety and you can be reasonably sure of what you are growing using those seeds. However, its very hard not to overlook at least a couple seeds if you wait too long for your first pollination. A few seeds will get swallowed up by the developing flowers. If you pollinate at around week 3 or 4 (later for very long flowering)with small clumps of flowers , you’ll be able to see all the ripe seeds very easily.
You won’t get more seeds pollinating twice then you would get pollinating once. If high seed count is your goal, The trick is to wait to pollinate until the plants are well into flower, saving the male pollen if you must to do this. Pollinate when you have full clusters of white pistils, making sure you hit them while they are completely white. If you see the pistil tips start to turn color that is past its prime. Fresh white pistils. A few days after pollination, assuming it was successful, you will see the pistils begin to whither, starting at the tips.

very strange, I separated him by the pre flowers, he presented some balls, when he was attacked by ants … I made a protection he was developing well … when I returned to collect pollen, there were several pistils.

I will have to plant again to find out …

thanks man…

Hello, nice to meet you, glad you liked it … I’m happy …

What I did was adapt some of the ecologically based farming practices I knew, I discovered many other ways to do it here at OG …

Let’s see how it goes, if everything goes well, I will start before September.

I think they fall more in the tree category :joy: nice work… nothing like being up in the forest/jungle/ fields in contact with nature.

Thanks … The weather helps and always gets in the way …

The size of the plants is due to the planting period (early spring), the thickening of the plants (there were many seeds available), guerrilla camouflage (shading) and some long rainy periods (little sunshine).

If you look closely, the lower branches are poorly developed, due to this stretch. I had to make good supports not to break …

Next crop I will work with known varieties, sent by @George and others that I am waiting for … As soon as I arrive I will post here …

I had good news, I paid the postage fee and the Sebring seeds are coming, they were sent on 01/29.

Thus, I will work with clones of females and will be able to plant fewer plants …

Thanks for visiting, come back soon…

Have you ever tried to flop them? They would side shoot more…

A kind of lst, the plant is tied on one side, then bent to the opposite… given the lower branches more light. I know someone that did this because of the stretching and he didn’t want to have unwanted attention… gave way more than he had experienced before

A bit like what people do in indoor but less work. Just have to keep an eye.

Or this

Ps: just some examples I found by googling. But this one is more mainlining lst

Yes, not entirely … I did it on some plants, but only on one side … I also did apical pruning, some plants look like three or four small plants … I wonder how high they would reach …

Thanks for the example, I will consider this in the next planting, less branches and more flowers …

The first type of lst all you have to do is bend it. And keep it tied up. You don’t need to top or fim it. All you do is let it grow horizontally.

Th second is mainlining and that you top and then train it, I have seen some being trained with a broomstick

Just found your thread, great work love the photos. You live in a beautiful country, I’ve been lucky to visit a couple of times. I spent 2 months in Bahia mostly surfing in Itacare, I think you mentioned you were from Bahia. Man I miss eating acarajé everyday haha. I grow in the tropical jungle too so I’m following your thread now.
Good luck irmão

Hello, so, I live in the south of Brazil, but my climate is more tropical, the seeds I planted are from the south of Bahia, exactly the Itacaré region. Acarajé is really good … I bought several liters of palm oil …

I went for work and also for a walk  … I also surfed, but in Ilhéus and Maraú. The peninsula of Maraú is beautiful, did you know it?
I also don’t remember, are you in Mexico?

thanks. It was a pity to have so many hemaphrodites … these first plants are loaded with seeds. But the pots are full, I can be patient … The second part of the harvest will have few or no seeds.

Next season, I will have known genetics, thanks to your generosity and other nice guys I met here …

Yes I remember visiting Maraú. Seeds from Itacare nice mate, there is definitely a love for the plant in that area… unfortunately most of what I smoked was Paraguayan brick, I think. I was in the south also for about a month in Florianópolis some great surf there too. Oh niice you make your own Acarajé, I should really attempt it. I’ve had nothing that tastes similar any where in the world. Acai for breakfast acarajé for dinner daily, tudo bem
