All Bodhi F2’s and Co-op plans

I’m creating this is in inspiration of something bodhi frequently talked about in his new episode with the potcast. He shouted out folks on Overgrow doing Bodhi Co-Ops and f2s of rare packs, and I think there should be a topic that’s based on that. If you have any rare packs, or packs you love with a parent that was lost, and plan to f2 and preserve them, come and share your knowledge!

Not super rare, but I got ahold of a pack of dla9 (kush 4 x 88g13hp), that I plan to open pollinate on my next run.

What podcast are you talking about?

I have a half pack of goji og and I plan to combine it with snow lotus open pollination to continue the line as pure as possible.

I think that’s probably the pot cast, though I’ve never listened to it

If anyone is interested we have a group for these preservations and reproductions. We currently are opening up for a few new members for 2025, but there are a couple requirements. We really are looking for people who want to do some of the older or rarer packs as well as the more recent ones.

Bodhi Apocalypse Vault

1 Bodhi grow per year
50 seeds from said grow sent to each member
No drama

Not hijacking the thread, just DM me if interested

I this is the thread that kicked it off last year

@Hemlock I know I’ve seen some of the open pollinations, but are any of them selected first before reproduction? I’m cool with both, just curious.

I don’t hold any old packs, but anything I do, I would be more than willing to donate for preservation purposes. Edit: I did get a pack of the higher education for those that missed out. Someone else can reproduce it if they would like.

Was just talking to @GreenBean1029 about how amazing the dla 9 is. Some of the best smoke hes grown, and he’s grown some heavy hitters from Bodhi. I definitely can get behind this repro. :+1:t2::fire:

My understanding is open pollination for co-op reproduction. 10 seeds is a small sample so the idea is use all of the pack to increase the genetic material saved.
Pretty sure selection is a personal project.

Removal of obvious herm plants from co-op run

Hey Doug what we where talking about isn’t specifically just for co op runs just bodhi runs and stuff in general so I don’t think the transfer to this thread was needed @DougDawson and would be wrong place for some of the discussions in this thread

I can move it back and out of the co-op section if you like? It was put up in the co-op section with co-op in the title and had multiple mentions of doing a co-op and co-op rules. So it seemed like a good reason to transfer it. I don’t mind putting it back if you like?

Popping in so everyone can see this was re-opened.

I would like to see preservation runs where herms are not automatically culled. But, maybe I am the only one! I think it reduces overall genetic variability and is cutting off your nose to spite your face. I posted in the Bodhi discussion thread earlier about Bodhi saying the landraces can be grown out multiple times and essentially “reprogrammed” to learn to grow in a new environment. This is from Episode 10 of The Pot Cast starting about 2hr16m in (It’s less than five minutes, take a listen!!).

Everyone has to prioritize what is best for their own garden, but a reproduction to keep something alive can (should?) be treated with different rules than a regular grow. If genetics can be worked, or even just given time and opportunity to grow out of a funk they should be saved. That is true preservation to me. I think it is short sighted to throw away, or back shelve, all of the stuff that doesn’t necessarily behave indoors. Some lines need work, but the genetics are still valuable AND let’s not forget irreplaceable in some cases, which is how they ended up on a repro list to start.

It was sad to read the Dreadbread and older Goji F2 repros where all intersex were excluded/trashed, or the decision was ultimately made not to share seeds due to intersex concerns. Goji OG was sooo good and everyone wanted some… Once it was repro’d though, all I read (over, and over…) was that people were afraid to grow the F2s, or didn’t want to because of “intersex traits.”

Musings of a Gardener/Stoner.

TL;DR: Space Monkey looks to be off the market at all vendors now.
