American Pit Bull Terriers owners thread

Thank you!

Haven’t a clue. But he’s healthy, happy, calm and snuggly and those matter far more to me haha

I did meet the father. He was about 110 pounds, and full of energy - didn’t meet the mother though.

This is how to tell people you’re a Dogman without telling them you’re a dogman…

I admire purebred pit bull terriers. Some kennels are also in my country. I have a cross between a pit bull and a dogo argentino.

A rare picture of “CH Ferguson’s Centipede”, the dog seen as the starting point for the bloodlines that became known as the Old Family Red Nose strain.
Bred by L.C. Owens off of his bitch “Owen’s Mickey” with Arthur Harvey’s stud “Harvey’s Red Devil” (both Hemphill’s associates) and owned by Dave Ferguson and Earl Tudor

Is that kinda’ like a back-cross? Dogos had some pitbull IIRC(?).

Pretty dog.

thanks…I don’t know what exactly the IIRC means.
It is not from any planned crossbreeding, but from the superstition that a bitch should have puppies at least once in her life.
So I bought it as a puppy from a family that had a pit bull bitch (approx. 26 kg) without an ADBA certificate.

When I asked about his father, they told me he was also a pit bull, but from the data and appearance, I think he’s probably Dogo. Judge for yourself, weight 50kg and white with a black half head.
My dog weighs 31kg and has a sturdy figure with a big head. He is very smart and has a great hunting instinct, but very kind to people. But he “jumps” at strangers and tries whatever he allows , but still friendly.

I installed Invisible Fencing for near 15 years. No dog was as easily trainable as Pitties. No attacks, just big, dumb love. They will bowl you over with happiness if your not careful lol

The true American Pit Bulls of today have this dogman’s bloodline to thank for in their pedigrees…

Believe it or not I’m friends with a South African dogman here in the Central Illinois, he always wants to come over to my yard…He’s very cool guy and he ran Lukane blood in South Africa…

Is his name Jason?

This was the 1st Lukane stuff to land here brought in by a guy called Jason and the littermate by a lady named Leigh Anne.

This dog Jasper was said to be off Lukane but that turned out to be fake… Ask your mate if he had Jasper dogs or dogs off of Philly

Rudi L…he said he started off with Murphy’s Oiler dogs and a lot of Tants dogs are there too …

Not too certain any Oiler dogs came in.? May be mistaken but I have been around these dogs for most of my life and was one of a few who imported dogs from the states.

The Tant stuff that came in was this dog David and his sister Tanny. They set off the S A yellow line of dogs. Those were the only 2 Tant dogs brought in and they weren’t owned by Rudi but most certainly anything down from them I’m pretty sure he had. I believe I know who you’re talking about if it’s the same person.

He didnt say he owned any Tant dogs…Rudi moved, he’s in Ohio now but he does come here and visits every year…when he comes to visit we’ll talk…
