this thread will mostly about clones i take and or anything related to my cloning setup
i had an other cloner i did last year but i made a new one this year trying to resolve a common issue
the leaking lid…
ill do a lil paint art to give a better view of how i ended solving my issue

so im gonna try to make a long story short in the past i would deal with the leaking lid by using a tray under the cloner and would refill water in the tote and cleanout the tray under… but that was in the good old days pre-stroke now i cant deal with the risk of having a water mess upstairs and ruin my house
so i started shopping canadian tire for a better tote model then the previous and i chose this one because it had rubber sealed lids, wich i taught bingo this is solved but it
still leaked when i ran it for testing i even taught about swapping sprinklers for the supersonic misters i had read about this being as good as sprinklers and figured fog wont create leak issues
but most cuts would insta-wilt with the fogger setup so i was forced to find a solution to my leaking lids
the dual tote cam to mind but then i had the issue about water emptying one tote but filling the other wich risked damaging my pump wich i didnt want to burn and buy an other as i am unable to work so i had no income so i have to take care of what i have or else…
so i drilled holes on the bottom of the inside tote so water will always go back in since water will level itself

still trying to root some clones but they are stuborn im starting to wonder whst could cause a sprinkler system wich was working great, to barely work i went fromm 99%roots in 7 days to 5% in a month waiting time
Clogged? Jets not in the right place?
I sometimes have to hold my airstones down with spoons (yes spoons) to ensure proper coverage.
i know its not vlogged i cleaned it twice so far
I’ve had slow rooting with lower Temps in a bubble cloner(stems in the water). What are your water temps?
i couldnt trll you i got no thermometerbut i run it on a 30/30 cycle on my timer
30/30 is to limit the heat from the pump i used this the first year i did my cloner it used to work great now im post stroke and im having issues constantly loll already hard to desl with one arm now i got to figur out why this sint doing what it used to do
so far my hypothesis is light going into reservoirebut im just using straight well water

I have a very similar unit. I run the pump 24/7 so that it heats the water up to promote root growth. I change the water, using chlorinated tap water and change it once a week. I keep the humidity dome on until I get roots showing on all cuts then remove dome. Normally takes about 2 weeks. Hopefully this information helps you.
my unit is home made built it few years ago just this year i have been having issues

I found a couple drops of bleach per gallon of water helped keep the reservoir clear so if they took longer they weren’t getting brown slime or stem rot. I’ve since switched to Root Riot plugs and Hormex #8 rooting powder and get very good results without worrying about leaks. I use a walker to get around so being able to clone in a solo cup makes it easy for me compared to filling and cleaning a res.

im gonna go on instinct here but i think my initial issue was temperature and hunidity related as i have been rooting clones since warmer temps arose in spring but im fearing the following months willgive me issues and ill try to see what can be done in this regard when time arise for it
but i have had succes so far with good temps
